Mt Cook School, Wellington

Mt Cook School is open today. We are monitoring the weather closely and will continue to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all our tamariki and kaiako throughout the day.

Just a couple of reminders as we come to the end of another busy term.

Next Thursday, we will be holding our Matariki Breakfast at Mt Cook School, starting at 7.30am in the hall. All whānau are warmly welcome to join us for breakfast and take part in our Matariki activities.

We are also nearing the completion of the B Block renovations. The kaiako and tamariki from Hoiho, Katipō, Takahē, Ruru, and Toroa are very much looking forward to moving back into their newly renovated learning spaces. On Thursday, we will also be moving furniture to ensure the classrooms are ready for the start of next term.

Please remember that school finishes at 2.00pm on Friday.

Next week, our lost property will be displayed outside. Please take some time to have a look, as any unclaimed items will be donated.

Thank you for another amazing term. It has been a term where our multicultural and diverse community has been celebrated, and where our school community has come together in so many wonderful ways. We are incredibly grateful for your ongoing support and partnership.

Mt Cook School has received some great news from the Minister today. Please have a look at the announcement below. We are looking forward to hearing more details about what this announcement will mean for our school and community.

Investment in Lower North Island Classrooms Education Minister Erica Stanford announced $10 million to deliver new classrooms across the lower North Island, taking the total spend on new classrooms to over $1.2 billion over the past 3 years.

A reminder that tomorrow, Friday 29th May, is a Teacher Only Day and Monday 1st June is King's Birthday. We look forward to seeing tamariki back at school on Tuesday 2nd June.
