Rātā's visual arts program is expanding, and we now offer Art for Adults!

Lead by the wonderful , Brighid’s artistic style tends toward expressive realism with a touch of whimsy and often explores stories of human connection and community.

All visual art class materials and equipment are supplied, so you can simply sign up, turn up, create and connect with our welcoming Rātā creative community.

Join us for 3 days over Labour weekend to create a professional showreel using original scenes designed to showcase your range and strengths.

Scenes will be directed by acting coaches Jo Rogers & Tess Jamieson-Karaha and filmed with award‑winning emerging cinematographer Ebed Pohl, ensuring professional sound and visual standards.

The purpose of a showreel is simple: to show how you act. It should demonstrate your ability to handle character nuance and a clear story arc. Each scene will be as cinematic as needed to support your performance.

We are super excited to be hosting the E Tū Whānau Rangatahi Film Workshop Tour these school holidays!

This 2.5 day workshop is for Rangatahi Māori age 12-24 to work alongside young Māori filmmakers to create short films that tell stories from their own perspectives, grounded in identity, community and creativity. The films created are then entered into the E Tū Whānau Rangatahi Film Challenge.
