What an incredible achievement for our Year 7 & 8 Mathswell Team, who placed 3rd overall in the Wellington region!

Competing against over 40 schools from across the region, our team of six tackled challenging mathematical problems, working quickly, thinking creatively and collaborating under pressure.

🧠 Complex problem-solving
🤝 Outstanding teamwork and collaboration
🏆 A well-deserved place among the region’s top-performing teams

We are also incredibly proud of our Year 5 & 6 team, who performed strongly and qualified for the Cup Group — a fantastic achievement in itself!

A huge congratulations to all our mathematicians for representing our school with such skill, determination and teamwork. We are so proud of you!

A Prayer for Peace

Yesterday, Grace and Roy, accompanied by their parents, Adam and Jing, and our Head of Faith Curriculum, Mrs Zogg, represented our school at the Hiroshima and Nagasaki Commemoration Service at the Cathedral of St Paul.

Grace and Roy beautifully delivered the concluding prayer together. Their words were filled with respect, hope, and a heartfelt call for peace — a truly moving moment that brought tears to many eyes.

We are so proud of them and extend our heartfelt thanks to Adam and Jing for supporting them at this important service.

Remembering, reflecting, and hoping for peace.

This week, we farewelled Max, our wonderful organist, as he begins an exciting new chapter in the UK as the Organ Scholar at Exeter Cathedral.

For over three years, Max has been a valued part of our St Mark’s community, bringing his incredible musical talent, passion, and warmth to our Chapel Services. His beautiful music has been a highlight of our weekly gatherings and has created many special moments for our students and staff.

We are so grateful for the contribution Max has made to St Mark’s and wish him every success in this exciting opportunity.

Haere rā, Max — you will be greatly missed!
