👋 MEET OUR TEAM! - Lou 💜

Kia Ora & Bonjour to everyone! 🌿

My name is Lou, and I’m a French teacher here at the Alliance Française!
Originally from Orléans (just south of Paris), I made the big leap across the world to New Zealand with my family about 8 years ago. I’ve been with the Alliance for a few months now and have truly loved connecting with everyone here.

Outside of teaching, I’m also a Psychology student which strongly shapes how I approach teaching and supporting my students.
To me, learning a language is a true two-way street: while I share the beauty of French culture and language, my students help me deepen my understanding of individual and cultural perspectives. I truly believe that embracing new cultures and languages is one of the greatest assets for personal growth and well-being!

What I love most about the AF is the flexibility — whether in private lessons or small group classes, we can tailor every session to suit your unique learning style and goals.

Outside of teaching and studying, I love relaxing with a bit of journaling, coloring, or a good Sudoku puzzle.

Looking forward to meeting you in class! À bientôt !

Découvrez Orléans - Workshop & Tasting 🌿

In the heart of the Centre-Val de Loire, along the banks of the Loire river, lies Orléans. A historic city of medieval streets, grand cathedrals and a legacy that helped shape the destiny of France.

Join Lou for a fun and immersive workshop (en français !) and step into the history, traditions and art de vivre of Orléans from the famous Fêtes de Jeanne d'Arc to the Festival de Loire, and the region's culinary treasures: the wines of the Centre-Val de Loire, Orléans mustard, and the beloved Pithiviers.

And of course, we'll wrap up with a tasting of delicious traditional treats from the region!

The New Zealand International Film Festival is back in Wellington from 12 to 23 August 2026, filling the city with world-class cinema - and a brilliant line-up of French films!

We've teamed up with NZIFF to give you the chance to win:

🎟️ 1 double pass 👉 "De la Comédie-Française" (Sun 23 Aug, 2:30pm, Embassy Theatre) – A gloriously chaotic backstage farce filmed at the real Comédie-Française, starring actual members of the troupe. An actress-turned-director battles cursed props, clashing egos and a Macbeth that refuses to come together. Uproarious, gag-filled fun for French cinema and theatre lovers alike.
