I hope that everyone had a lovely long weekend.
Yesterday the teachers spent the day at our cluster Expo.This provided the opportunity to hear guest speakers as well as attend workshops which included literacy, collaboration, numeracy, local history and many more. It is always so valuable to have the opportunity to continue our professional learning.

As the weather becomes colder we are seeing an increase in unnamed clothing in the Lost Property box, please make sure you name your child's items. A quick name label helps us return misplaced jackets and jumpers directly to your child.
If your child is missing any clothing please make sure you are checking the box in the hall foyer. Any unclaimed items remaining at the end of the term will be donated to charity.

As you read this I will be at our Yr 6 camp at Kaitoke YMCA camp. We left yesterday and will return on Friday. It is a real privilege as a teacher to get to see our children participate and challenge themselves. Seeing them dive into these experiences has made me reflect on how fortunate they are to have such a wide array of opportunities.

Some examples of this include:

* the Year 6 camp
* on Tuesday more than 25 Yr1-3 children participated in the Junior Invitational Cross-country competing against runners from the schools in our cluster
* fortnightly a group of our Year 6 children go to Churtonleigh Aged Care Home and spend time with the elderly doing things such as art activities
* our Library leaders along with Hue and myself visited Te Matapihi Ki Te Ao Nui - Wellington Central Library and were able to have a guided tour even going to areas not always accessible to the public

It is always worth reminding ourselves of the incredible opportunities available in school and beyond and take time to appreciate them.Enjoy the rest of the week.

This coming Tuesday, our Year 6 ākonga are off to Camp Kaitoke for an epic week of outdoor learning! Set in the beautiful Remutaka Ranges, this trip is a chance for students to build confidence and teamwork through adventure.
Our ākonga will tackle new challenges and create lifelong memories. We can't wait to hear their stories of growth and resilience when they return!
A big thanks to our staff and parent helpers for making this possible.
