Our preschool tamariki enjoyed a lovely hīkoi to Frank Kitts Park! 🌿☀️ We explored our community, enjoyed the fresh air, and had lots of fun together along the way. What a beautiful day for a little adventure! 💛

And last but certainly not least… our final introduction!

Meet the absolute heart of Millie’s House Hopper Street, our wonderful manager, Tasha! 💛

Tasha is truly the rock at the core of our centre. She pours so much love, energy and passion into Millie’s House. You’ll often find her right alongside the tamariki, helping out in the rooms, building beautiful relationships and making sure our children feel safe, loved and supported. 🥰

Having been a kaiako herself for many years before stepping into management, Tasha brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role. She is incredibly proactive, supportive and always looking for ways to make our centre the very best it can be.

From supporting our incredible team, to building genuine relationships with our whānau, to creating a warm and welcoming community, Tasha is at the heart of it all. She makes sure everyone feels valued, heard and like they truly belong. 🏡

We are so lucky to have her leading our Millie’s House whānau and we couldn’t think of a better person to be at the heart of our centre. Thank you for everything you do, Tasha! 💕

Tasha’s fun fact is that before becoming a teacher she spent a year on an exchange in Sweden! 🇸🇪✈️

Meet Lily! 🌞

Lily is one of our wonderful Kākāpō Room kaiako and truly is a ray of sunshine! 💛 Her sweet, bubbly personality brings so much joy to our centre, and her caring nature shines through in everything she does.

Lily is passionate about providing personalised care for every child, taking the time to get to know each tamaiti as an individual and supporting them in ways that help them feel safe, confident, and valued.

You’ll often find Lily baking alongside our tamariki, leading fun and engaging mat times, or creating meaningful moments of connection throughout the day. She has a special gift for supporting our younger Kākāpō tamariki and those transitioning from the Kea Room, approaching every transition with patience, kindness, and encouragement to ensure each child feels secure and ready for their next adventure.

We’re so grateful for the warmth, positivity, and care that Lily brings to our Hopper Street whānau every single day!

Lily’s fun fact is that she adores animals and used to work at the spca before doing ECE!🐾

Meet Caylie! 🦋

Caylie’s journey with us began as a student teacher on practicum, and it didn’t take long for us to know she belonged at Millie’s House Hopper Street. We loved having her so much that we just had to keep her! 💛

Now one of our wonderful qualified kaiako, we couldn’t be prouder of everything Caylie has achieved. She brings so much passion and purpose to her teaching, carefully planning thoughtful environments and intentional learning experiences that spark curiosity and wonder.

Her creativity shines through in everything she does, and the care she puts into every setup and activity creates meaningful opportunities for our tamariki to learn and thrive.We’re so lucky to have you on our team Caylie, we absolutely adore you! 💗

Caylie’s fun fact is she loves to bake and is always making delicious treats!

Meet Jesu! 💙

Jesu is one of our amazing Kākāpō Room kaiako and brings so much fun, energy, and knowledge to our days! He has such a special way of connecting with our older tamariki, creating beautiful and genuine relationships.

Just like Caylie, Jesu’s journey with us began as a student teacher on practicum, but it didn’t take long for us to know we had to make him part of the team!!

Jesu is always thinking up awesome activities and engaging learning experiences, and his mat times are always full of so much fun, and opportunities for our tamariki to learn and connect. His creativity and enthusiasm shines through in everything he does, and all of our tamariki absolutely adore him! We’re so lucky to have you as part of our whānau, Jesu! ☺️

Jesu’s fun fact is that he has taught children of all ages, from 0–18 years old, having worked across the ECE, primary, and secondary sectors! 📚

Meet Lyrique! 🩷

Lyrique is one of our wonderful Kea Room kaiako and is incredibly passionate about giving our youngest tamariki the very best start to their learning journey!

She teaches with her whole heart, building genuine, meaningful relationships with every child and whānau who walks through our doors. She has a warm, bubbly nature and endless aroha which helps create a space where tamariki feel safe, loved, and celebrated every day.

Music is a huge part of Lyrique’s teaching. Singing songs at mat time, dancing together, exploring instruments, or sharing music experiences, she loves using music to foster connection, communication, confidence, and a love of learning. 🎼 We’re so grateful for the passion, energy, and love you bring to the Kea Room, Lyrique! 🤍

Lyrique’s fun fact is, before becoming an early childhood teacher, she studied performing arts!

Meet Sarah! 🌺

Sarah is one of our wonderful Kākāpō Room kaiako, and many of our whānau may remember her from her time in the Kea Room too! 💛 She’s an incredible teacher who connects with all our tamariki!

Before joining us, Sarah spent many years teaching in primary schools in the Philippines, bringing so much knowledge , experience, and passion into her teaching every day. She has an amazing understanding of children’s learning and development and is passionate about supporting our older tamariki as they prepare for their transition to school.

Sarah is also incredibly creative and is always dreaming up beautiful art experiences that encourage our tamariki to express themselves, explore new ideas, and have fun while learning.🎨 We’re so lucky to have Sarah as part of our whānau. Thank you for everything you bring to our tamariki and team! 💗

Sarah’s fun fact is that she is amazingly talented at sewing and can make her own clothes and dresses!
