WANT TO BECOME A BETTER COACH?

You don't need to put your coaching on hold to develop your skills.

The New Zealand Certificate in Sport Coaching (Level 3) is designed to fit around community coaches and their teams.

Here's what you can expect:
- Online learning
- Around one hour of self-directed learning each week
- Six facilitated online sessions
- Connect with other coaches and experienced facilitators throughout the programme
- Apply what you're learning with your own team
- Practical assessment
- Show what you can do through coaching plans, reflections and coaching videos
- Nationally recognised qualification

Successfully complete the programme and gain the New Zealand Certificate in Sport Coaching (Level 3) – 40 credits.

Who can enrol?
- Coaches aged 16+
- Coaching at least three beginner-level athletes
- Any community sporting code
- Access to the internet and a device for video recording
- Support from their club or organisation.

Enrolments are open throughout August and September.

A good coach can make a huge difference to whether someone enjoys sport, builds confidence and wants to keep coming back.

The New Zealand Certificate in Sport Coaching (Level 3) helps beginner and developing coaches build the practical skills to create positive, safe and inclusive sporting environments.

Coaches will learn to:
- Understand their coaching identity
- Coach with whakamana, manaakitanga and kaitiakitanga
- Plan and deliver effective coaching sessions
- Observe, reflect and improve their coaching
- Manage health, safety and injury prevention
- Create enjoyable experiences for participants.

They learn while coaching their own team.

The programme is delivered online, so coaches can develop their skills without stepping away from the sport they love.

Enrolments are now open for the New Zealand Certificate in Sport Coaching (Level 3).

Summer sport is coming. Is your club ready with coaches who have the skills and confidence to make a real difference?

Te Mahi Ako’s second facilitated Sport Coaching cohort is designed for beginner and developing community coaches who want to become better coaches while continuing to coach their own team.

Whether it’s cricket, basketball, softball, touch, tennis, athletics, volleyball or another community sport, coaches will develop practical skills they can use straight away.

- Build coaching confidence
- Create better experiences for athletes
- Learn how to plan, deliver and review coaching sessions
- Develop safe, inclusive coaching practices
- Work towards a nationally recognised Level 3 qualification
- Learn online while continuing to coach.

Certificate achieved! Ka mau te wehi, Vesna!

A huge congratulations to Vesna Radonich on completing her New Zealand Certificate in Sport Coaching (Level 3).

An international paddling coach and passionate waka ama advocate, Vesna has balanced whānau, coaching and her own learning journey to achieve this fantastic result.

We caught up with Vesna in Tairāwhiti last week to celebrate her achievement and present her with her certificate.

Her mahi, dedication and commitment to developing her coaching skills is something to be proud of.
