“No one can make you feel inferior without your consent” -Eleanor Roosevelt.

This quote implies that If you don’t believe in yourself, then you won’t go far. You have to trust in yourself and your abilities. Confidence is important in life, especially in the workplace, because when you are confident everyone will respect you. Building confidence begins with eliminating negative thoughts. You have to know who you are and trust you can do it. Don’t belittle yourself.

"He who asks a question is a fool for five minutes; he who does not ask a question remains a fool forever”

This Chinese Proverb relates to thinking skills, the curiosity that seeks a holistic understanding of an idea or situation rather than to remain ignorant and blindly accepting what we don’t know.

We critically assess and consider viewpoints outside our own and draw upon our past experiences and so we may make informed decisions and solve problems. We can be more conscientious in our understanding of the world by seeking information and being open to new possibilities and perspectives.

Thinking skills are one of the 7 essential employability skills. See the poster below that our fabulous admin work experience learners have created to understand how this skill relates to the workplace.

"Every act of conscious learning requires the willingness to suffer an injury to one's self-esteem. That is why young children, before they are aware of their own self-importance, learn so easily." ~ Thomas Szasz

Today's quote relates to the willingness to learn, the desire to try new things for our personal development even at the cost of making mistakes or getting criticism. If we don’t try things or attempt to grow, we end up standing in the same place. To educate ourselves, learn from others, and openly receive and take on feedback allows for us to move forward.

Our admin work experience superstars have made another poster of how willingness to learn relates to a working environment as it is one of the seven essential employability skills.
