Learning Together: Social Development 🌱

In our Montessori environment, social development is woven into everyday experiences. While children often begin by working independently to build confidence and concentration, they are also encouraged to collaborate, share, take turns, and learn alongside others.

Through activities like preparing morning tea, caring for their classroom, and supporting younger peers through the tuakana-teina relationships, tamariki develop manaakitanga, responsibility, and a sense of belonging within their community.

These meaningful interactions help children build positive relationships and the social skills they will carry with them throughout life.

"The child is both a hope and a promise for mankind." - Maria Montessori 💚

Toddlers love to sing!

Through songs, actions, and beautiful waiata cards, our mokopuna are building confidence, exploring language, and beginning to vocalise as they join in each morning. A joyful way to nurture oral language, culture, and connection.
Special thank you to Arohanui Montessori for the inspirational song cards. Our toddlers love them!

Our working bee days are a community event where kai is shared, and many laughs are had. The tamariki really look forward to getting their hands dirty, helping out and spending time with all their friends. Being community-run, this is what makes our school such a special place.

Thank you to our amazing whānau for all your hard mahi yesterday. What a wonderful working bee!
