I am officially out of my moon boot! This is going to make home visits a lot easier!!! After wearing it for a couple of months it has become quite the security blanket - it has been a little nerve-wracking to not rely on the safety it gave me, but I’m regaining my confidence. (Back on my bike but not yet tramping)! This has been a good reminder for how hard it can be for the children in clinic to move away from the safety of familiar foods to introducing new ones. It takes time and a lot of practice.

Matariki is known as Māori New Year in Te Ao Māori (the Māori world view).
Closely connected with the maramataka (the Māori lunar calendar) the reappearance of the Matariki stars in the early morning sky brings the past year to a close and makes the beginning of a new year.
It's a time for remembrance - honouring those we have lost since the last rising of Matariki. Celebrating the present - gathering together to give thanks for what we have. Looking to the future - looking forward to the promise of a new year.
