Over the past week, our mokopuna have been diving deep into the meaning of Matariki, learning about the nine stars and what each one represents. From arts and crafts and learning new waiata, to making and sharing delicious soup, they’ve been so busy! They also showed incredible mahi tahi to get our whare ready for our big whānau function.
Knowing how much they learned made their performances so emotional and meaningful for us all. Having our whānau together to share a hāngī, connect, and make lasting memories was the ultimate highlight. It was a beautiful reminder of the power of whanaungatanga.
Ngā mihi nui to everyone who joined us to welcome the Māori New Year! Mānawatia a Matariki! 🌟
A very delicious World Chocolate Day! After grabbing some Wellington Chocolate Factory hot chocolate powder, our mokopuna whipped up some custom chocolate barks at preschool. They had the best time choosing their toppings and were so proud taking their treats home! 🍫🙌
Small hands and big dreams (and ideas) at Capital City Preschool this week. We have been so busy being creative and working collaboratively with our friends.
