Congratulations to Tane on receiving his Drainlaying qualification 👏
"EarnLearn was easy to deal with and easy to contact. What made it even easier was the support I received throughout my training from my EarnLearn Account Manager. Any question or support needed Jason was easy to work with and always left no question unanswered. He also was very persistent with checking up on how my books were going, which made me get them done faster.
My best piece of advice for new apprentices would be to get your books sorted straight away and don’t let it drag out, even if it’s only 30 minutes a night.”

A great achievement and an inspiring journey from Warrick Felton at Fire N Ice in Tokoroa.
Warrick Felton from Fire N Ice in Tokoroa has recently completed his New Zealand Certificate in Electrical Engineering Theory and Practice (Level 4) at the age of 58 with support from EarnLearn.
Warrick originally completed a four year Radio and TV apprenticeship, but when he wanted to move into becoming an electrician, the only option seemed to be starting a brand new apprenticeship from scratch.
“I started my journey 20 years ago, trying to cross credit from an EST to an Electrician. The only avenue I could seem to find was to start an apprenticeship from scratch, even though I had already completed a 4 year Radio and TV apprenticeship, by the age of 21.”
When training organisations came together under Te Pūkenga, Warrick reached out to EarnLearn to see if there was another pathway.
“When I found this out, I contacted Earnlearn and they arranged everything, from cross crediting my existing Radio and TV qualification and EST to a number of NZQA qualifications, arranging all my on jobs through the Provider and corresponding with Open Polytech and Trade School with Toi Ohomai.”
“I believe that without Earnlearn I would not have been able to complete this Certificate, without having to start from scratch and having to prove that I could use a screwdriver and read electrical diagrams, etc."
"I would like to thank the team at Earnlearn and my Account Manager Jason for the help and guidance through this whole process. Jason kept myself, and others on track and was always approachable and very helpful.”
His advice for anyone starting their apprenticeship?
“Pay for your apprenticeship yourself, weekly, it makes you work harder and takes pressure off your employer.”
Congratulations Warrick on an incredible achievement.
