Some great ideas in here about how we build community. We have lost so many skills of how to support each other. The good news is the more we demonstrate and build these behaviours, the more we all win. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1C4EPAh1jh/?mibextid=wwXIfr

What a day for it! Hope everyone is warm and bundled up out of this storm. This is a play invitation that really makes the most of the wind we inevitably have here in Wellington sometimes. It was very popular with the tamariki

Get outside and play! Now that we are in winter it can get a bit trickier but that’s why we always bring our jacket and a change of clothes. Babies, toddlers, kids, parents - we all love to be outside

We were so lucky to be able to do some playcentre education on session today. One of our parents did it earlier this year and had this to say “I really loved being introduced to the idea of an invitation to play rather than just providing an activity, and the idea of resetting resources to invite further engagement or extend the play. We did little invitations ready for the morning and would be lovely to watch him discover them and see how he engaged.” Playcentre is full of so many of these play invitation ideas to keep busy wee hands and brains occupied and growing in low stress ways.

Come along on Wednesdays - It’s usually been our session for younger tamariki but we have 2 year olds on session and we don’t want to lose them! We welcome tamariki to come play with us on Wednesdays, it is a lovely relaxed session and can be a great introduction to Playcentre if you have finished SPACE or are at home with a baby or toddler (or both!)and wondering what to do together. Or maybe you want to hang out with more adults? Whatever your jam, come along and have a cuppa and chat.
We would love to see you on a Wednesday

I was getting knocked around by parenting influencers online always giving me advice. It was such a relief to do my Playcentre education and approach my parenting a bit more methodically and within safe parameters. It has helped our family parenting so much (my partner has now done way more than me!) and opened up some great conversations about our philosophies underpinning the hardest job in the world.
We can always work on our finger spelling!
