π¨π»βπ« Teachers are experts in the classroom, so we asked what they thought about the new national qualification. This is what they had to say.
β¨ At PPTA we advocate for change to be meaningful, considered, and to keep students at the centre ensuring every young person in Aotearoa New Zealand has the chance to succeed in a qualifications and assessment system.

πͺ When Myanmar's teachers walked off the job in protest at the 2021 military coup, they didn't abandon their students β they volunteered in remote villages instead.
π²π² Now, thanks to the support of PPTA Te Wehengarua, our partners at UnionAID are helping bring modern teaching methods to rural Myanmar to keep children learning. This project has now trained 43 teachers to deliver quality secondary education to students across 28 villages.
π€This is solidarity in action, and we're proud to support work like this - building education from the ground up in communities that need it most.

βοΈ Solar panels are coming to a school near you!
π Some good news this week from the government that 500 schools will be funded to install solar panels to power learning.
π΅ The potential for thousands of dollars of energy cost savings is great news for schools whose operational budgets are shrinking in real terms.
π± The funding of renewable energy sources also supports a move away from diesel and coal burners in our schools.
