The final day of 13 days of videos to celebrate Karen’s 13 years as a awesome kaiako at our kindergarten. This final one represents her to a tea as she is always ready to be silly and have a laugh with the tamariki! ❤️
Strathmore Park Kindergarten
High Quality Early Childhood Education An indoor/outdoor space is a welcome recent addition to our environment and allows more options in bad weather.
As Strathmore is one of the sunniest suburbs in Wellington we are lucky to have an environment that is almost always (well… usually) bathed in sunshine. Our children enjoy the variety of challenges that its outdoor area promotes for learning, including a HUGE sandpit on one side and a large grassy, sloped playground on the other equipped with an ever-popular fire engine. We care very much for our

Day 11 of 13 days of videos of our Karen! A favourite story to end the day! This week is Karen’s last week at kindergarten before she retires. 🥹🥰
Day 10 of 13 days of celebrating Karen. Sorry this one is a day late 😆 because I got carried away watching the fantastic Hurricanes victory and forgot to post! They are now champions just like our Karen is to us! 🔥🎉🙌🥰

Our pukapuka of the week is Owl Babies, about three little owls Sarah, Percy, and Bill who are left in their nest while their mother goes off to find food. While she is away, they wonder where she has gone, if she will come back, and share how they are feeling.
The tamariki have really enjoyed this story and the owl puppets that go along with it. This afternoon while we were tidying up, we found the three baby owls sitting on top of three feelings cards that are usually stuck on the wall in this area. We had a little laugh at how cute it was and also thought it was very appropriate and clever. 🦉🦉🦉❤️

At our kindergarten, one of our special Haere Rā traditions is celebrating the tamariki, kaiako, and other special people who have made an impact on our learning community. We mark these occasions with a special high tea to acknowledge their time with us and wish them well on their next journey.
Yesterday, we celebrated our friend Delisha, who has now turned five and started an exciting new chapter at Kahurangi School alongside her brother and friends.
We wish Delisha all the very best for her school journey and look forward to her popping in for a visit to tell us how it is going.
Haere rā, Delisha! 💖
Day 6 of 13 days of celebrating Karen calls for another evening bed time story! 🐈🥰
