Chilling in the winter months, it’s easy to get bogged down with what’s happening around the world. However, there are amazing and inspiring people around us constantly pushing for change! And it’s these people I look to when I’m feeling more on the dejected side. They inspire me, and show me just show much people care ♥️ in the sexual harm space, there are a number rangatahi activists - your TIB leaders included - pushing for a safer community for all ♥️
Plus, it’s Thursday! You know what to do! Tag us in those black

Ngā mihi for the excellent post
“This week we enter R**e Awareness Week and ask all to keep in mind that at the crux of our kaupapa, we are trying to make safe spaces for everyone. Sometimes this can look loud (👀 like making submissions to our Have Your Say form in bio and signing up to out Korero & Kai night on Thursday in bio 👀), but sometimes it can look like a conversation and knowing how to support your loved ones, friends, and even strangers through some of the toughest moments of their healing journey.
If you’d like support or would just like to talk, please reach out.”

As part of R**e Awareness Week join us this Thursday for Kōrero and Kai!
🎉Register for free in the link in our bio! For either the online panel, or in person panel & workshop in Tāmaki 🎉
We’ll be hearing from experts, activists and change makers about transformative change across different areas of sexual violence, and the different barriers and opportunities they see to a society that upholds justice for survivors. Following the formal panel discussion, we plan to workshop and discuss what has just been shared, and explore our own ideas around achieving change within our university communities.
Looking forward to seeing you there! 🖤🖤

Ngā mihi for this “very brief consent for dummies” right in time for the whole of Aotearoa going into orange light!
Going out this mid sem break? We have collected a small number of reminders of what consent looks like. Look out for yourself, your friends and others. At the end of the day, consent is about respect and we create the culture together.
Even if it’s not a Thursday, if you’re fit is in black out in town give us a tag for consent!!

Ngā mihi for the Amendment Update: Harmful Digital Communications Amendment Act.
As of the 9th of March, Aotearoa has declared that survivors of harmful digital communications who choose to report it to the police, are no longer required to prove an intent to cause harm.
What is harmful digital communication? The posting of intimate photos/videos online without consent. i.e. revenge p**n.

This morning the media released an article which detailed incredible disappointing and appalling events surrounding action UoA took when dealing with sexual harm. We are incredibly disappointed in the university’s response, lack of adequate support for the student and the severe lack of accountability for perpetrator. We stand we the survivor and all those affected. We also know this isn’t an isolated event, and plays into a much needed cultural shift. Looking ahead, we want to continue calling out the university and work together to make sure our campus and spaces are safe for all staff and students.
Support is available for anyone and we want to remind you you’re not alone. We’ve compiled some support services on our link tree and in these slides. All these organisations are operating remotely and are here to support anyone. Kia kaha x
