We had a fantastic afternoon yesterday celebrating BECC. Thank you to everyone who came along. It was very special to have so many amazing past and present teachers attend the party - please see the photo.

We are so excited to see everyone tomorrow at the Vogelmorn Community Centre from 2pm to celebrate the 30 wonderful years BEEC has had in the Brooklyn community!

The beautiful Moriah Kindergarten is currently restructuring its hours and has spaces available for any families that are looking for alternatives to BECC.

This time next week we will be getting ready for the BECC celebration party! Kick-off is 2pm at the Vogelmorn Community Centre. Fingers crossed the weather is better for it! Looking forward to seeing you there.

We are having a farewell party to celebrate 30 special years in the Brooklyn community. All past and present families, teachers and connecting community members are invited to a family-friendly, fun-filled afternoon to say goodbye to our cherished creche.

Kia ora BECC whanau,

It is with heavy hearts we announce the Brooklyn Early Childhood Centre will soon be closing its doors.

The BECC parents committee have been looking into relocation options since last year and intensified our efforts last month when we found out that our lease would not be renewed. Unfortunately, though, we've had to conclude that there are no viable options for us to move to in our local community. Of the many options we've considered, common themes were that either venue is already in common usage for much of the week, and/or zoned for non-education activities.

The decision to close has been a tough one, but we feel it's the right call to make. Our priorities are to support the teaching team, transition children well, and finally, to celebrate our 30 plus years in this community in style. It's been a great run!

We've committed to remaining open through to Friday 21 May, and our wonderful teaching team will be with us through till then to support and transition children into new ECE centres.

This week 24th - 30th May, we will be celebrating Vaiaso o le Gagana Sāmoa! Samoan Language Week!

The theme for SLW is 'Tapena sou ōso mo lau malaga' which in English means 'Prepare yourself a gift for your travels'.

This year's theme urges us to prepare for the journey ahead. It highlights the need to honour, respect and share the gifts of our life's journey.

Happy Tuesday!

Prior to retreating to our bubbles, during afternoon rest time at the centre, we had been enjoying listening to traditional Fairy tales told as audio books. Most recently we have enjoyed Pinocchio, and Cinderella was a popular CD story some time ago.

This morning instead of our regular excursion to the Brooklyn public library I have recreated "Little Red Riding Hood" as a Felt Story slide show. You'll need to click through the pages but the audio should start automatically.
