Extended deadline for full paper submission – 31 March 2017
Online registration to the IATE conference is now open !

Dear all,

This is a gentle reminder about the extended deadline for submission of full papers : next Friday 31st of March 2017.

Professor Paolo Figini (from Bologna University) prepared a list of information regarding the online registration process and suggested accommodations (please see the links below).

He has recommended hotels close to Bologna University (Rimini campus), which is located in the city centre. The closest hotels to Rimini campus are Card hotel and Napoleon Hotel (A five-minute walk from the campus). Several members of the IATE council will be staying in these hotels. There are also several other options in the city centre and nearby the seaside. We highly recommend that you book early to obtain cheaper deals. Please note that space is limited in the two hotels that I mentioned above (early booking is recommended).

The 2017 conference coincides with the 10th anniversary of our association, and we are very pleased to have with us two keynote speakers who have played a key role in the creation of the IATE in 2007 (Professors Eugeni Aguilo and Larry Dwyer).

Thanks to your participation, our association will remain a platform to exchange ideas, reacquaint with colleagues, meet old and new friends and broaden our knowledge in the field of tourism economics. We will also have plenty of opportunities to socialize during our receptions, conference dinner and half-day tour in San Marino and the surrounding of Rimini. Our hosts are also organising a social programme for your guests who will be joining you in Rimini.

Important dates to remember:

Extended Full paper submission deadline: 31st March 2017

Early Bird registration deadline: 1st May 2017

PhD workshop: 20 June 2017

IATE Conference dates: 21-23 June 2017

Kind regards
Mondher

The University of Stavanger invites applications for a doctorate scholarship in Economics at the Norwegian School of Hotel Management at the Faculty of Social Sciences.

The PhD scholar will be appointed for three years. The appointee can start when he/she er admitted to the PhD-program with an agreement to complete the doctorate within the duration of the scholarship.

Description

The objective of the PhD-project is to investigate productivity differences in the hospitality industry through application of microeconomic theory and econometrics. The PhD Scholar will get access to a rich data material from the hotel sector for the project.

The University of Stavanger has a large economics community with several other PhDs. The PhD scholar will be part of this community through cross-departmental cooperation in the project. There will also be opportunities for national and international collaboration with other research groups in economics and tourism & hospitality.

Applicants must have a strong academic background with a master degree within economics, preferably recently, or possess corresponding qualifications which could provide a basis for successfully completing a doctorate. Both the grade for the master’s thesis and the weighed average grade of the master’s degree must individually be equivalent to or better than a B grade.
