Please spread the word amongst your own contacts and local community about our Open Day. All are welcome.
Calling for Exam Assistants!
St Mary’s College is looking for people to be Readers or Reader/Writers for senior students sitting NCEA exams between November 14th and November 22nd. A Reader is a person who reads the instructions and questions in an exam paper to a student sitting an exam. A Writer writes or types the student’s answers to the questions.
As an exam assistant you are paired up with a student and will assist them with two or three exams. You will be expected to attend a training session on October 27th from 9 to 11am, there is also an online training module about being an exam assistant. Each exam is up to three hours and the NZQA pay exam assistants four hours per exam (half an hour before and after the exam for setup and pack up).
If you are able to help out please contact Erica at [email protected].
Our students very much appreciate your willingness to support them in this way. By being a reader/writer you will be supporting a student to achieve their full potential in their exams.

Thank you to those of you who came to St Mary’s College Alumni and Year 13 breakfast yesterday. Your presence at the breakfast was such a blessing. The breakfast wouldn't have been the same without you. I know many of you travelled afar to make it to the event, we really appreciate you coming to support the College and reconnecting with us.
Today marks the end of Term 3. We will look to release the event photos in the next week or so. The next Alumni newsletter is due for release on 1 November 2022
Happy holidays!

Last week, David Groves, St Mary's College Director of Sport received a phone call from the US Embassy about two high-profile US athletes visiting NZ and Samoa.
They kindly offered us the opportunity to come and speak to our students on Thursday. We look forward to welcoming Dr Jen Welter and Phaidra Knight onto our College campus.
They will be speaking to our top sports teams and students with an interest in leadership, high-performance sports and diversity in the workforce. Then they will spend an hour with the two rugby teams doing drills, skills and games.
What an incredible opportunity for our students and the College. We are very grateful.

Over the past two months, we eagerly opened the Second Hand Uniform shop on the 1st day of the month. We have already had very good interest from the community, particularly from new parents and students starting with us in Term 1, 2023.
We are now looking to replenish our stock (in particular, vests, jerseys, skirts, and blazers) ahead of Term 4. In Term 4, we expect more parents and students who are joining us in 2023 to use this service. Can you please look and see if you can donate any uniform items? Future families of St Mary's College would be very grateful to you.
Support the Friends of St Mary's College school uniform recycling scheme by donating and dropping your uniform items into the office.
Here are your recycling options;
All good, clean, resalable items are always welcome!
Option 1: Donate all items with all profits to the Friends of St Mary's College/Alumni to offer services and scholarships to the college.
Option 2: Sell your BLAZERS and JACKETS to the Friends of St Mary's College.
