What an inspiring day at the Te Rito Maioha and MoE Symposium in Masterton.

It was fantastic to join kaiako from across the region who are committed to deepening their understanding of how tamariki learn and how we can better support every child to thrive. The energy, whakaaro, and willingness to learn from one another was truly uplifting.

A huge mihi to everyone who attended and contributed to the kōrero. Together we continue to strengthen inclusive, evidence-informed practice that supports the diverse strengths and needs of all tamariki.

It was great to bring together early childhood educators in Wellington for our symposium supported by the MoE.

With a focus on supporting kaiako to confidently identify, understand, and respond to diverse learning needs, the day sparked some very practical learning. It was encouraging to hear so many positive comments from attendees about the relevance of the presentations and the opportunity to connect with colleagues who care deeply about tamariki and the future of ECE. Thank you to everyone who attended, presented, and helped make the day such a success.

Ko te rā o te taiao tēnei! Happy Earth Day! Earth Day is a reminder that caring for Papatūānuku begins early!

In ECE, tamariki develop a sense of connection, responsibility, and respect for the environment through everyday learning experiences grounded in te ao Māori and Te Whāriki.
