We had a very interesting trio touring Toi Rauwhārangi, our College of Creative Arts on our Wellington campus yesterday 🐱

Grace, a year 12 from Howick College in Auckland, is interested in studying concept design and has been drawing since she was two. Grace and her mum Cheryl, as well as their cat Pumpkin, made the trip down from Auckland to take a tour with one of our Future Student Advisers, Tui Pilitati.

Pumpkin, a rescue cat from the SPCA, has separation anxiety so can’t be left alone. Grace and Cheryl have been by Pumpkin’s side for over a year now and take Pumpkin everywhere. This year, Pumpkin is likely to have been the first cat to have ever been to the World of WearableArt (WOW) show held annually in Wellington.

Our tours usually take less than an hour but this one took a little longer as Pumpkin (and Pumpkin’s custom-made bag) gained some extra attention from admirers on campus.

Looks like a move to the capital is on the cards for Grace, Cheryl, and Pumpkin. Perhaps Pumpkin will get to meet our Wellington campus cat, Pocket in the future.
