Our Lovely students from Sakai - Osaka, Japan are in Lower Hutt & Wellington for two weeks.

Two wonderful weeks of activities and memories will bond New Zealand and Japan together in the WNES Student Exchange programme.

We have been successfully doing this for over 40 years and love the young students learning how the two cultures have so many unique aspects, enjoying home stay,learn what is traditional Lunch or Dinner & the daily commute system.

There is such great vibe with these young generation, a lot to learn as well for us adults & each trip is special.

Here are the first two days, arrival yesterday and College today, which the students enjoyed, despite the jet lag.

Such a fantastic afternoon! 😍 Last Sunday, we welcomed the College students who recently returned from the Sakai Student Exchange Programme to the gallery. Wonderful Farewell from Sakai and the last day at Universal Studios, Osaka was amazing for the students.

We are back in Wellington yesterday. A very successful trip for each student & precious memories of the time spent with host families and the trip.

The support from Sakai Higashi Council & Wellington Sakai Association are valuable to our programme and we acknowledge their support is key to our success.

Next year July end, for two weeks we hope to host students from Japan, Sakai Higashi schools and reciprocate their kindness.

Thank you everyone for your warm wishes and we are grateful to the parents support as well.

We had two amazing teachers who worked hard throughout the trip to help all student’s at all hours.

It’s a wrap for 2024 and on behalf of WNES thank you everyone, for your roles, support and wishing everyone the very best for the rest of the year.

Wellington Sakai Association sponsor the Osaka Aquarium trip for the students, we are very grateful as the students had an amazing experience and loved the outing.
