This event held at 7.30pm on 12 September at Dilworth’s St Patrick’s Chapel is a special fundraising concert featuring internationally acclaimed New Zealand Tenor, Filipe Manu, rising young vocalist, Joshua Futi, and Dilworth’s award-winning choir Fortissimo, presenting a beautiful programme of opera, Tongan folk music, and choral favourites.

St Margaret's College is celebrating a stand-out result for its Year 13 International Baccalaureate Diploma students, with all Language and Culture candidates passing their exam and achieving an average mark of 6.25 out of 7, well above the global average of 4.9.
St Margaret's was the first school in Australasia to offer Language and Culture, selected for an International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) pilot in 2023. It's since become one of the school's most popular IBDP options, thanks in large part to its flexibility.
Examined in May, Language and Culture lets students bank diploma points early and go into their November exams with one fewer subject to juggle.
The result is a reminder of just how flexible the IB can be. Alongside their six subjects, students complete an extended essay, Theory of Knowledge, and Creativity, Activity and Service with choices ranging from Design Technology and Sport Science to Arts subjects with no written exam at all.

Congratulations to Adelle Tipper, Ellie Beaumont, and Isabela McLean from Whitby Collegiate School, who achieved an outstanding 3rd place out of 26 schools in the Regional Strengthening Democracy Project finals across the greater Wellington region this week.
Presenting before a distinguished panel of Members of Parliament, they spoke with confidence, conviction, and eloquence, demonstrating the critical thinking, leadership, and courage that the college strives to nurture.
Their dedication throughout the competition and outstanding performance in the finals made them exceptional ambassadors for the school. The staff at Whitby Collegiate are incredibly proud of all these students have accomplished and congratulate them on this well-deserved success. 👏💙

Last term Diocesan School for Girls officially welcomed its new Executive Principal, Dr Sandra Hastie.
Through a beautiful Pōwhiri and Commissioning Service, the community came together to celebrate, support, and begin this new journey.
Dr Hastie joins Dio with a deep commitment to girls’ education and a passion for nurturing environments where young women are empowered to discover their strengths, aim high, and grow in confidence. In these early months, her focus is on listening, learning, and connecting with the people who shape the unique heartbeat of our school.
The school community is looking forward to the journey ahead, as it continues to build on the proud traditions and values that make Dio so special.
