We missed our 50th (covidcancelled) and our 55th. Any future plans for a Jubilee?

Any plans for 2025 - 55 yr reunion due to 50 being cancelled? Please involve foundation pupils in planning and give overseas alumni a decent heads up to plan our visit!

Remember when the school opened in 1970 there were only 4 classrooms and only two of those were ready to use in the first week or two! The school also went up to Form 2 (the year before high school).

Last week, we officially opened our stunning new classrooms and Library. It was wonderful to see so many of our community joining us for this important occasion. Our students showed all their SPIRITS as they performed haka and waiata; demonstrating so much energy and enjoyment. We shared the occasion with guests from the Japanese Consulate, Ministry of Education, Hawkins, McKenzie Higham and our local MP Greg O'Connor.

Hello Crofton Downs Primary School do you have an updates for a rescheduled jubilee celebration. The final iteration of the committee suggested 55 year (2025). I'd love to hand on the admin of the page. Please get in touch.

CDPS Jubilee Celebrations:
After careful consideration to the amount of planning needed to organise the event, consideration for the restrictions to people's travel arrangements, coupled with the uncertainty of future Lockdown levels and the restrictions on the number of guests, we have reluctantly decided that November's Jubilee Celebrations will be cancelled. We still hope to be able to run some of the student elements (1970s Sports Day) during the school day. Many thanks in advance for your understanding.

It's looking unlikely that those of us living in Australia will be able to make it back for the Jubilee :(

In November 2021, we will be celebrating our 50th Jubilee with a programme of events for past and present students, teachers, families, and supporters of the school. This is our long awaited and belated celebration, delayed due to COVID 19.

Our celebration will take place at Crofton Downs Primary School on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th November 2021, with a range of events across the two days.

We're excited to announce that the CDPS 50th Jubilee is going ahead on Friday 26th November and Saturday 27th November.

Gill Stannard here. Hello and farewell! Just a quick update before I step down from the Jubilee committee. 2020 - what a year! It didn't quite go as anyone expected. But all going well the 51st birthday and slightly belated Golden Jubilee of Chartwell/CDPS will be celebrated in November 2021.

There have been many tough decisions and transitions since plans begun for Golden Jubilee 1.0. Toby's enthusiasm got us started and after he left the school, Louise Grant took the lead for the next 12 months.

Unfortunately Louise has now stepped down. Thank you for all the wrangling you did Louise!

As I'm based in Sydney and am unsure if there will be a two-way bubble by next November, I too am leaving the Jubilee organising committee.

My focus has been tracking down as many Foundation and early years pupils as possible, and set up some social media to get the message out there. There are still many ex-students we've not connected with yet, so if you know of anyone who was part of the school community and doesn't know about the Jubilee, sharing the FB page link, liking and following is an easy way to stay up to date.

Currently the committee is in flux. If you're a past student or parent, and have time to help wrangle the Jubilee into shape, please contact the school asap.

We're getting closer to finalising a new date for the jubilee...in the meantime, could school excursions in 1970 get more exciting than this?!
