“We take pride in providing an excellent holistic Catholic education to enable our community of learners on their Catholic journey – where each student is known”.

Last Thursday evening all of the St Francis de Sales School community gathered for a Fun Whānau Wellbeing Hui! They started with a free community sausage sizzle and rainbow 🌈 cupcakes. This was followed by a variety of entertainment and a chance to learn a little about feeling good and functioning well at home and at school.

This was part of our Whole School Wellbeing programme we are focussed on across our Kāhui Ako.

Wrapped up warmly away from the sleet and snow, the Kāhui Ako Leadership Team held our termly Principals' meeting at Cardinal McKeefry School. Kaye Brunton of Evaluation Associates led an excellent session where we reflected on the last five years. It's amazing looking at what has been achieved by our Kāhui Ako and so exciting thinking about what's to come. Thank you to everyone for their mahi today.

Resources 13/06/2022

There are some great resources on this page around mental health and trauma, especially relating to covid and also war and conflict. There are explanations around developmental trauma as well as ideas for activities in the classroom to promote calm and opening up. There are lots of pdf's that could be really useful to have on a staffroom wall or as a discussion point in a staff meeting:

Resources Beacon House is passionate about developing freely available resources so that knowledge about the repair of trauma and adversity is in the hands of those who need it. Please feel free to use our resources in your home or work setting.
