Nobody defined the second generation of Wellington punk more than Flesh D-Vice and nobody was a more impassioned voice, or a more capable scene organiser than Gerald Dwyer.

Gerald left the band in 1991 and moved to management and promotion, very successfully, with Shihad and Head Like A Hole. Shihad recorded a version of the Flesh D-Vice anthem 'Flaming Soul' in his honour after he died suddenly in 1996. Flesh D-Vice continued for many years, well into the 21st Century, as flagbearers of the scene and Gerald’s legacy.
