Auxiliary Module Promotes the Synthesis of Carboxysomes in E. coli to Achieve High-Efficiency CO 2 Assimilation - PubMed 23/04/2021

Hi everyone,

Thanks to everyone that came along yesterday! There seems to be several of you that are keen to take part this year but we do need a few more people to put together a team.

If you are interested, please put your name down on the sign up sheet below by the end of the day. Mitch and Kelly are putting together a project proposal for funding from the school and we need to know the size of the team.

Sign-up sheet here:

Remember as well, if you don't want to commit to lab work, there are many other ways you can contribute. We are especially keen on finding people with more diverse backgrounds like comp sci, marketing etc.

We'll meet up again on Tuesday, 4.30pm, TTR106 to discuss more project ideas so have a think over the weekend and do some reading on anything that would work well with the experience and facilities we have at VUW.

A quick reminder for our event today at 5pm in TTR205 :)

16/03/2021

We were blown away by the amount of interest in iGEM at our event last week, so we thought we put together a brainstorming event to see what sort of ideas we can come up with. We'll meet this Thursday at 5pm in TTR205. Hope to see you all there, and feel free to drag anyone along who you think might be interested!

Hi everyone,

We're holding our first iGEM event of the year this week! From 5pm on Thursday March 11th in AMLT105, we will be running iGEM NZ: Past, Present and Future.

iGEM is an international SynBio competition held in Boston each year. Teams are required to design and create a project using SynBio principles with a multidisciplinary approach. We have a number of speakers from across NZ lined up who will share their experiences with iGEM and how they applied what they learnt to their current projects.

We also have an international speaker, Savvy Besse from Montreal University. She will be speaking about iGEM Ties, a project looking at team interactions and how they affect the iGEM experience.

This is a sponsored event with food! So if you are interested in hearing about iGEM, sign up at the eventbrite link below:

If you can't make the event in person, we also have a zoom link for the event so be sure to register!

See you there!

Hi Everyone,

Just a reminder - we're holding a brief SynBio meeting tomorrow afternoon (Thursday) at 4.30pm, TTR104. Vincent will be giving a general overview of SynBio - what it is and some research areas of interest. Please note, we have changed the room to TTR104 (just across from TTR106) to allow for Level 2 social distancing requirements.

If you are unable to make it, the meeting will also be held over zoom at https://vuw.zoom.us/j/95780444420?pwd=T1pLTzI2Y2FmQW9XeTB5c2RtdFJSQT09

Last week the team was at the CBRE and CfB joint symposium. Great work team!

One year ago VUW sent its first ever iGEM team to represent the university at the 2019 iGEM Giant Jamboree in Boston, MA. Despite just falling short of a bronze medal the team did very well for the first team going to Boston. For to Covid-19 there was no VUW iGEM team this year but here are the winners from this year’s competition. Next year the Jamboree will be in Paris!

2020.igem.org Individual Registration is now open through Eventbrite! All attendees, including team members, should register through Eventbrite to get access to the "My iGEM" Platform and App, and to sign media release agreements for the event. Register on Eventbrite now!
