Most 12-year-olds are thinking about intermediate school. Kenzie Jordan is thinking about university. 🎓 After completing NCEA Level 3 at just 12 years old, Kenzie is waiting to hear whether she has been accepted to study mechatronics, with dreams of developing bionic limbs and medical technology that could change lives. What an inspiring example of what can happen when talent, passion and curiosity are given the space to thrive. 💡✨

🎵 Huge congratulations to our talented Te Kura ākonga for their success in the 2026 Play It Strange competitions! 🏆 Raia Taylor and Zac McLean were winners in the Junior Songwriting Competition with their original songs Burned Through and never let em know your next move. 🌟 Sophia Speedy also achieved an equal fourth placing in the Peace Project 2026 competition with Question Box. 👨🏽🎨 Creativity shone brightly at our Northern Region Puanga Matariki Celebration, with ākonga showcasing an incredible range of artwork inspired by the stories, stars and significance of Matariki ✨
From stunning photography capturing winter dawns and sunsets, to detailed illustrations, digital art, sculptures and mixed-media creations, the exhibition highlighted the talent, imagination and unique perspectives of our ākonga 🌅🎨🖌️🖼️

Mānawatia a Puanga, Matariki! Today our Northern Region came together in Whangārei to celebrate the Māori New Year through creativity, connection and reflection for our ākonga. From raranga harakeke and manu aute to hands-on activities and shared kōrero, a wonderful opportunity to honour the season and spend time together.
