Stickman was a popular choice for book week. There was lots of extensions of play as the tamariki build stickman a castle in the sandpit. It’s lovely to see their imaginations coming to life 🏰

A huge thank you to our Warkworth Community for supporting our request for cameras!

Our tamariki have been putting them to fantastic use as they entered the exciting world of Danny Go Island Adventures, heading off on a mission to capture the perfect shot of the Pink Tiger.

There has been so much laughter, movement, imagination and excitement as the tamariki extended their growing interest in music through these new resources. They have had an absolute blast bringing the music to life through active play, storytelling and their own creative adventures.

We love seeing where the interests of our tamariki take their learning, especially when our community helps us make these experiences possible.

Today brought a little bit of winter magic!

Our tamariki were dressed as beautiful butterflies, and soon shouted out they had found a butterfly outside in the playground. The Kaiako thought it was part of their role play, but no it was a real Monarch butterfly! What a special surprise to find one in winter.

We decided to try and keep it safe and take it over to a swan plant, hoping it would find a safe place to rest. But our little visitor had other plans and soon spread its wings and flew away.

Moments like these remind us that nature is full of wonder and that learning can happen in the most unexpected ways. It sparked curiosity, gentle conversations about caring for living things, and plenty of excitement as we watched our special visitor continue its journey.

Sometimes the most magical learning experiences are the ones we never plan.

It’s all fun and games outside during the winter months. Outdoor exploration encourages tamariki to build confidence, solve problems, develop resilience, and strengthen their gross motor skills, all while connecting with nature and each other. Best of all, it reminds us that some of the richest learning happens beyond the classroom walls.

On Thursday some of the tamariki attended Mahurangi College to see the juniors production of Seussical.

The talented cast brought the wonderful world of Dr. Seuss to life. Based on beloved stories including Horton Hears a Who!, Gertrude McFuzz, and Horton Hatches the Egg.

A huge thank you to all the students, teachers, and everyone working behind the scenes. We know how much time, dedication, and hard work goes into creating a production like this, and we can't wait to cheer you all on for the next one 😁
