Exploring how things move.

Our littlest learners At Bunny Childcare have been intrigued by how things move, with activities set up by Kaiako to support their learning, the under-two's room have been using balls down tunnels and ramps and sand through pots, pans, and sieves. noticing how things move through the holes and move faster with the steeper ramps. With open invitations to extend upon learning children of all ages explore and learn about the world around them. Bunny Childcare, where great learning through play happens every day.

Creating with different materials.

At Bunny childcare our tamariki love to use different resources to create and express their ideas. A common focus in the Piwakawaka room has been using hotglue guns and recycled materials such as bottle caps, cardboard tubes, and ribbons to create their own unique masterpiecies.
Through this hands-on experience, tamariki work on their developing hand-eye co-ordination, fine motor skills, creativity, and problem-solving skills while confidently bringing their ideas to life.

The tamariki of bunny childcare have been enjoying learning more about Matariki.

While we have sung waiata and shared food, read stories, and learned about the 9 stars of Matariki, we have been guided by the values of Matariki.

Love and respect for one another

Our tamariki practice every day, their growing social and emotional competence.

Coming together

We came together as a bunny whānau for our first lantern walk. Making lanterns and being together under a dark sky with our lanterns and light displays was exciting for our tamariki.

We gave vegetables to make matariki soup. The children peeling and chopping, potatoes and parsnips

Feasting

Our wonderful chef created a matariki snack back for our tamariki and their siblings after the lantern walk.Her homemade style baking a such a favourite.

Whakanui
Celebration

We accepted an invitation by Jess at the Rodney Local Board to join the Lantern Festival.
Thankyou for encouraging us to do something new this year. We had a wonderful time with our whānau, their tamariki, and the bunny team.
