tre reflects the magic of the natural world around us. Our hours of operation are 7.15am - 5.30pm Monday to Friday. (only closed public holidays) Healthy nutritious meals are provided for the children. We offer families full day (7.15am-5.30pm) & school time sessions (8.30am-3.30pm). The daily education programme provides a mix of some structure & child initiated play. We incorporate a comprehensive transition to school programme in our daily routine for our preschool children. Our planning reflects this by being centered around the interests & strengths of the individual child & the centre as a whole. The planning process weaves emergent, environmental sustainability, individual learning & developmental experiences that are supported alongside a dedicated team of experienced educators. Management & staff place a high importance to ongoing professional development, this is a collaborative decision to ensure the interests of the individual & centre needs are met. Our centre is a warm fun loving place to be where children are treated with respect & dignity that empowers them to work & learn alongside others & where the staff foster & role model some traditional values & manners. We look forward to the future & will ensure our centre is constantly reviewing practices & growing to meet the children's, family & community needs. Arnika Kennedy & Hayley Hargreaves

There’s a lot of learning in the little things.

Making their own choices, getting involved, working alongside others or simply having a go before asking for help. These everyday moments give our tamariki opportunities to build confidence and independence in ways that feel natural.

We’re there to support when they need us, while giving them the time and space to discover just how much they can do for themselves. 🌿

A lot happens in a day when you’re under two

At Nature’s Nest, our littlest tamariki are given plenty of time and space to explore, play and figure things out at their own pace.

Their days are woven together through familiar routines and meaningful rituals — familiar kaiako close by, opportunities to build confidence and independence, plenty of time outdoors, and rest when they need it. These everyday moments are about more than simply meeting their needs; they are opportunities to connect, feel secure and cared for, and build a strong sense of belonging.

Take a peek inside a day with our under twos 🤍

Our pukapuka tell the story of each child's journey at Nature's Nest.

It's a place where we capture their learning journey through photos, art, stories, and all the moments that make their time so special.

It's something our tamariki and whānau can look back on for years to come, celebrating how much they've grown, and everything that has shaped this.

Welcome to our new series: Overheard at Nature's Nest.

The relationships between our tamariki and kaiako are what make this industry so rewarding, so here's a glimpse into a few of the conversations we're lucky enough to have every day.

It's the questions, the giggles, and the satisfaction of problem-solving that fills our days here, and probably the best insight to what it's like at Nature's Nest.

Choosing care for your little one is a big decision.

The best way to know if Nature's Nest is the right fit for your family is to experience it for yourself.

Meet our kaiako, explore our spaces, and see how we support babies and young children as they learn, grow, and discover at their own pace.

Send us a message and we'll be in touch to arrange a visit.

Some special moments from our Matariki celebration. ✨

Our whānau came together to connect, reflect, and celebrate the beginning of the Māori New Year.

Matariki is a special time and it was wonderful to share this occasion with our tamariki and their families, creating memories and celebrating the values of togetherness, belonging, and connection that are such an important part of life at Nature's Nest.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening so special.

At Nature's Nest, the connection between our kaiako and tamariki is built day by day.

It's the small things. How children are greeted, how they're supported through challenges, how kaiako respond and adapt to each child.

This is what builds trust over time.

These connections create the foundations for learning.

Children who feel secure are more willing to explore, engage, and develop confidence.

A lot of parents know this feeling. That the transition into daycare can be one of the hardest steps, especially when returning to work.

When Milla started at Nature's Nest, she settled in quickly. Over time, she's become more confident in herself and absolutely loves her days here.

For Hayley, seeing this has made all the difference. Knowing Milla is not just comfortable, but loving every moment of her early learning journey.
