Every three years, we review our Strategic Plan, the document that informs everything from teaching and learning to school culture and how we engage with our community. This year, that review is underway.

With exams approaching, our student-led Academic Committee is running one-on-one tutoring for senior students.

𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴?
Head to the library or atrium, during or after school. Join our Google Classroom, post the subject you need help with, and a tutor will reply to arrange a time.

𝗪𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗿?
Visit the same Google Classroom and reply to students who need help in your strong subjects. Years 12 and 13 tutors can also earn Students in the Community hours while they help.

We are relaunching our international student programme, and we're looking for homestay families. We're seeking families who:

✅ Are connected to our school community
✅ Have an interest in other cultures
✅ Want to be genuinely involved in a student's wellbeing and day-to-day life

Homestay families are paid $460/week for a minimum six-month stay, and full support is provided throughout the placement.

A kind word to someone sitting alone. Sticking up for someone when it would be easier to stay quiet. Checking in on a friend who's gone quiet themselves. Asking for help if you need it.

All of these things require courage from you, and this courage in action can change what happens next.

Mount Aspiring College recently hosted 133 students across 10 teams for the annual Winter Exchange against Wakatipu High School. Blessed with perfect weather, the day began with a warm mihi whakatau before intense competition took over.

𝗠𝗔𝗖 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝘀: 9A and senior B netball, girls' 1st XI football, junior A basketball
𝗗𝗿𝗮𝘄: boys' 1st XI football
𝗪𝗮𝗸𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗽𝘂 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝘀: 10A and senior A netball, U15 rugby, both 1st XV rugby matches

After a fiercely contested day, Wakatipu High School claimed the overall trophy by just one point.

Congratulations and thanks to the students from Wakatipu High School for joining us at MAC and participating in the event with such skill and team spirit.

A huge thank you to all the coaches, managers, referees, and supporters who gave up their time to make the exchange possible. Your encouragement and dedication made it a fantastic day of competition for everyone involved.
