What a huge milestone for Bede who is one of our MAC students. Definitely gives some bragging rights at school 😎

A first solo is always the first big achievement for someone’s flying career and one that will stay with them for life. Massive congratulations!

Here at Learn To Fly NZ we are in a unique environment not just because we operate in Wanaka but our sister company is Wanaka Helicopters 🚁

This means we work and integrate with the helicopter pilots. We get to learn a lot about how heli operations are conducted and gives us a really good insight into the similarities and differences between the fixed wing and heli world.

Not only do we operate all things fixed wing, but we could tell you a small thing or two about the dark side (helicopters)😎

One of the great things is that all helicopter diploma students get to take up a trial flight in a fixed wing to help them build that understanding of the differences between the two worlds. This all leads to safer pilots in the making!

Two consecutive PPL passes in one day. We don’t do things by halves! 🥳✈️

Huge congratulations to Chrystal and Thomas on passing their flight tests and earning their Private Pilot Licences. The hard work, the early mornings, all made it worth it 💯

The skies just got two new pilots. We couldn’t be prouder ❤️

Our PPL Air Law Night class begins on May 14th!

There will be a total of 5 classes with the following dates running from 6pm-9pm:

May 14, 19, 21, 26, 28

Classes will be held in person or you can attend via Zoom if you cannot make it in person.

What a gift it would be to fly your friends and family in and around Wanaka!

If you hold a pilot’s licence along with a C172 type rating and it’s your first time with us, all you need is a quick check with one of our friendly instructors prior to hiring. If all is good, then you’re good to go!

Don’t have a type rating for the Cessna 172? No worries we’ve got you covered 🙌

It’s a great way to keep flying without the costs of owning your own aircraft! ✈️
