Our final cooking class of May ❤️
Although we had a cancellation, the smaller group made for a warm and relaxed evening. Everyone was confident in the kitchen, and the class flowed smoothly from start to finish.
This lesson was full of little tips and techniques along the way — making Kakuni (Japanese braised pork belly), learning how to use different parts of a daikon, cooking perfectly soft-boiled eggs for the braising sauce, preparing kinpira from daikon peel, and making a clear soup from scratch with homemade dashi.
I hope everyone enjoyed the process as much as the meal 😊
For dessert, we celebrated the season with a combination of chestnut and kūmara sweets, decorated with autumn leaves made from quince jelly 🍂
Thank you all for another lovely evening.
