🌈 Colour Week – Week of 17th August 🌈

Kia ora whānau,

During the week of 17th August, we will be celebrating Colour Week! Throughout the week, the children will be exploring colours through fun learning experiences, songs, art, te reo Māori, and New Zealand Sign Language.

Each day we will be focusing on two different colours. We invite children to come dressed in either one of the colours or both colours for the day—whatever is easiest for your whānau. There is no pressure to buy anything new; simply wear what you already have at home.

Colour Days:

Monday: Red & Yellow ❤️💛

Tuesday: Purple & Green 💜💚

Wednesday: Pink & Black 🩷🖤

Thursday: Blue & White 💙🤍

Friday: Orange & Brown 🧡🤎

We can’t wait to see everyone dressed in their colourful outfits as we learn and celebrate together! 🌈😊

How lucky are the Tui room children today!

Our new tables and chairs have arrived for the Tui room, and while we are sad to see our 18 year old tables leave and find a new home, we are grateful to be able to enjoy the new ones and watch as the spaces start to really come together.

Don’t forget next week is colour week! Are you ready for a fun filled week of colours! Our teachers certainly are. The packages have been coming in the front door fast and thick that’s for sure.

Today our Little kiwi children explored sensory play using flour and toy cars! 🚗🤍

As the tamariki drove their cars through the flour, they experimented with making tracks, explored different textures, and developed their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.

This open-ended activity also encouraged curiosity, creativity, and early language as we talked about the marks and patterns we could see.

🐥🐥🐥Cuteness overload

This mornings visitors consist of 3 very cute but scruffy chicks

We welcomed, Charlie, Chuck Norris and Becyonce into all of our classrooms this morning. They happily entertained the children by flapping around and feeding from everyone’s hands.

They were certainly some tired chicks afterwards and have spent the last two hours sleeping in my office.

These three are off to Waiau Pa School Calf club in October. Feel free to pop along on the 18th of October to check out all the animals and stalls.

As a community we are super lucky to have schools surrounding us that celebrate calf club days around this time of the year. And we are even luckier to get spoilt with baby animal visitors.

Check out Faye the kid lapping up all the attention from the Pukeko and Tui children when she came to visit us last week.
