Teacher Only Days - Term 3
As part of the Ministry of Education’s ongoing implementation of the refreshed New Zealand Curriculum, our teaching staff will be participating in two dedicated Staff-Only Days in Term 3:
🔷Friday, 4th September
🔷Friday, 25th September
Please be advised that the school will be closed for all regular instruction on these days.
Our staff will be engaging in critical professional development, assessment planning, and curriculum review to ensure we continue to deliver the highest standard of teaching and learning for our students.
There will be learning available online to support our learners.
We recognise that Staff-Only Days require whanau to make alternative arrangements for their children, and we appreciate your support and understanding as our educators undertake this vital professional learning.

We would like to pass on a huge congratulations to Nikia-Rose Harris, who has been accepted into the New Zealand Army!

This is especially meaningful to us, as she is the first student to graduate from our Services Academy and be accepted into the New Zealand Defence Force.

Nikia joins the Army in March, and we wish her all the best with her preparations leading up to it, and all the best for her future!

Just a reminder to please bring your $2 coin tomorrow to support the Cancer Society and help us raise funds for Daffodil Day. 💛

💛🌼 Go Yellow for Daffodil Day this Friday! 🌼💛

Our school is proudly supporting the Cancer Society this Friday with a bright yellow M***i Day!

Students are encouraged to leave their uniforms at home and dress up in their favourite yellow clothing or accessories to show support for people and families affected by cancer.

What you need to know:

🗓️ When: This Friday

👕 Dress code: Wear something yellow (or m***i with a yellow theme) 💛

🪙 Gold Coin Donation

🎗️ Impact: 100% of the funds raised will go directly to support cancer research and community support services.

Let’s turn the school into a sea of yellow for a fantastic cause! Thank you for your support! 💛

It’s been an exciting Day 3 at Hillary Outdoors with our instructors - Patsy, Sarah and Josh. We had pancakes for breakfast before breaking off into our groups to do the flying fox, bush bashing, low ropes, high ropes and tramping to the pumice caves. After lunch, we joined back together to try Bombing - a navigational activity using coordinates to find locations whilst being on a stealth mission to find or hide from other teams. Big ups to Team 3 for the win!
