🌿 Some exciting new additions to our Playgroup! 🌿

We are so excited to have our new swings and picnic table ready for our tamariki to enjoy! 🛝💛

A huge thank you to our wonderful Waitārere community for helping make this happen. 🙏

Our Waitārere Progressives applied for a grant for the new picnic table and also kindly installed it for us. 🥰

The new swings were purchased using money raised at the Waitārere Community Long Lunch
another wonderful example of what can happen when our community comes together. ❤️

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed, donated, helped fundraise, applied for grants, installed, organised or supported these new additions.

They will be enjoyed by so many of our tamariki and whānau for years to come! 🥹🌿

🌿 A lovely Monday at Waitārere Playgroup! 🌿

We had a special visit from Darian, our local librarian from Te Tākare, who brought along some wonderful books for our tamariki 📚❤️

The children enjoyed a little kanikani (dancing) and story time, followed by lots of fun with our indoor activities and toys.

And, of course… despite the wild wind outside, the tamariki were determined that we must venture outdoors! 😂🌬️ Nothing was going to stop them from getting some fresh air and having a run around!

It was also so lovely to welcome two new whānau to playgroup today. 🥰 One of our new mums even attended Waitārere Playgroup herself as a child how special is that! 🥹❤️

A big welcome to you all! We loved having you join us and hope to see you again soon. 🙏✨

Our doors are open 10am–12pm and we’d love to welcome you along! 💛

Whether you’re a regular or you’ve never been to Waitārere Beach Playgroup before, everyone is welcome. Come along for a relaxed morning of play, connection, creativity and plenty of fun for our tamariki. 🧸🎨🌿

All done! Thanks for those who could make it to our impromptu working bee.
We now have a nice safe woodchip landing area.
Thank-you Mitchpine for the woodchips and Thank-you Eastons for digger digging out the space to the required depth. 🥰

🌟 Welcome Back to Term 3! 🌟

What a fantastic first day back! It was so lovely to see everyone again and welcome our families back to playgroup. 💚

Today our tamariki had lots of fun:
🩵 Making homemade playdough using the Playcentre Aotearoa recipe.
🎨 Three of the children each chose a different colour, and together they practised wonderful sharing as they mixed the colours to create beautiful marbled playdough.
✏️ Creating colourful chalk drawings outside.
🌿 Enjoying plenty of outdoor play, exploring, climbing, and making memories with friends.

It was a wonderful morning filled with creativity, teamwork, and lots of smiles. We can’t wait for another fun-filled term together! 💚

🌿 Our Playground 🌿

Visitors are very welcome to come and enjoy our playground! 💚

You may notice a sign on the fence from the council advising that the playground is not yet up to the current safety code. While we continue working towards meeting these standards, the playground remains play at your own risk.

We’re incredibly grateful for the amazing support we’ve already received from our community through generous donations and working bees. We still have more fundraising, grants, and volunteer efforts ahead, but we’re excited to share that more upgrades are planned 🎉

Thank you to everyone who continues to support our little playgroup. Every contribution whether it’s time, donations, or simply spreading the word helps us create a safer and even more enjoyable space for our tamariki and families.
