šŸŽ‰šŸŽ‰Today is the dayšŸŽ‰šŸŽ‰
Kindergarten Taranaki is now officially Whānau Manaaki Kindergartens!

These are exciting times ahead for our kindergartens, and for early childhood education in Taranaki.

The joining of our two associations will ensure the continuation and advocacy of high quality kindergarten education for tamariki in our region.

Parents and whānau, tamariki and staff in Taranaki will benefit from the support and resources provided by Whānau Manaaki ā€“ a large and long established kindergarten association.

You will notice that our kindergartens signs have changed to have the Whānau Manaaki branding on them, but we want to reassure you that your tamariki will continue to have the same caring Kaiako each day at kindergarten, and benefit from the same high-quality teaching and learning practises that you are used to.

What better way for the tamariki to be part of Americarna than taking a short walk along the footpath to watch the cars park up at Waitara Central Primary School field. The children were full of excitement as a wide variety of colourful cars rumbled past, some with shiny chrome, bold paintwork, and powerful engines that made wonderfully loud noises as they arrived. There was lots of cheering, waving of flags, and joyful calling out as tamariki showed their support. Whānau joined in the fun too, smiling, waving, and sharing in the lively atmosphere, making it a special community moment filled with energy, connection, and shared celebration.

Over the break, several improvements were completed around the kindergarten. The ceilings, door frames, and some walls have been freshly painted, giving the space a bright, refreshed feel. The old matting under the swings has been replaced with bark, and new wider guttering has been installed to better manage rainfall. We have also added a 1000L water tank beside the sandpit to collect rainwater for use in our outdoor play area.

You may notice the walls are currently bare while we wait for Autex panels to be installed. Once in place, these will make a significant difference by improving soundproofing and creating a calmer learning environment for our tamariki.

All of this work wouldnā€™t have been possible without Suzette and Josh from Kindergarten Taranaki, who made it happen and carefully oversaw the process as the improvements were completed. Once the Autex is installed, weā€™ll share photos of all the finished upgrades so you can see the wonderful changes to our environment.

šŸ“¢ We are on the COUNTDOWN!
We have 1 month to go until Kindergarten Taranaki officially joins Whānau Manaaki Kindergartens on 2 March. The joining of our two associations will ensure the continuation of high quality kindergarten education for tamariki in Taranaki.

These are exciting times ahead for our kindergartens, and for early childhood education in Taranaki.

šŸŸ£ Who is Whānau Manaaki?
Whānau Manaaki are a community-focused kindergarten association that works for whānau, not for profit. All resources go directly into high-quality early childhood education for tamariki. Both Whānau Manaaki and Kindergarten Taranaki are members of Kindergartens Aotearoa - a collective of kindergarten organisations working together to build a strong, enduring future for kindergartens and communities in Aotearoa.

Thank you to our Whānau and Community

We would like to say a huge thank you to all of our whānau and community who generously donated towards our raffle. We were truly overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity shown ā€” your support means so much to us.

Thanks to the amazing donations that came in, we were very fortunate to be able to offer five wonderful prizes. Every contribution, big or small, helped make this possible, and we are incredibly grateful.

Thank you to everyone who has kindly donated items towards our Christmas Raffle. We have received generous contributions from whānau members, a $100 gift voucher donation from The Warehouse, a $50 voucher from Craft Coffee, various items from Moana Olliver, and a huge thank you to Logan at Empower Electrical for the incredibly generous $500 Marbles voucher.

Raffle tickets are still available if you would like to purchase one (or two!). Tickets are $2 each. Please message us or pop into the kindergarten. The raffle will be drawn on Monday the 15th.

On behalf of the tamariki, whānau, and the team at Waitara Central Kindergarten, weā€™d like to give a huge thank you to everyone who contributed to our plant sale ā€”
there was so much generosity shown through everything that was given to sell, the time taken to care for the plants, the delicious baking, and the support in setting up the sale and resetting the kindergarten environment ready for our tamariki on Monday.

Your kindness and support help our kindergarten community continue to flourish. šŸŒæšŸ’š

We still have plenty of outdoor and indoor plants available, including a lovely selection of New Zealand native trees. If you missed out, feel free to give us a call on 06 754 7190 to arrange a time to pop down to the kindergarten and grab yourself a bargain!
