Kia ora e te whānau.

How lovely is the weather today - feels more like a summer day than winter.

We have another busy week ahead of us, it is great to be able to offer so many awesome opportunities to our students.

Have a restful Sunday afternoon and we will see you all again tomorrow :)

Just a reminder - if your child is wearing black pants to school, these need to have no logos on them please as sadly we are not sponsored by Nike, Adidas or Canterbury sports. Thanks for your support with this as we want to keep our uniform looking tidy :)

Kia Ora e te whānau.

This evening Mrs Stevie, some students from Tititipounamu and myself went to the opening of the Tumanako Art exhibition.

Our students created some incredible weaving, as a collective, as well as some individual pieces and they looked amazing.

A massive ngā mihi to Mrs Stevie and her students for their incredible mahi - we are so very proud of them.

When the exhibition finishes, we will be displaying this beautiful artwork in our foyer so that we can all enjoy what they made.

🏉 Congratulations to our Manukorihi Intermediate First XV! 🏉

What an outstanding game against Devon Intermediate! Both teams brought fierce competition to the field, playing with determination, skill, and respect from start to finish.

It was fantastic to see such great sportsmanship on display, with players giving their all while showing fairness and playing hard throughout the game.

A huge congratulations to our First XV on an impressive 61–38 victory! We are incredibly proud of the way you represented Manukorihi Intermediate, demonstrating resilience, teamwork, and our WHAIA values both on and off the field.

Thank you to Devon Intermediate for a fantastic game! Also, a big thank you to all the coaches, referees and whanau that came out to support.

Final Score: Manukorihi Intermediate 61 – Devon Intermediate 38

Kia ora e te whānau.

We had a great sports exchange yesterday against Stratford Primary school. It was so awesome to see the sportsmanship shown between the teams. A huge ngā mihi to Whaea Tania, the coaches and our staff for making this such a successful day out.

Our School in Action nights were well attended and we received lots of positive feedback around our programmes, our staff and students which was awesome. We look forward to having you join our whānau next year.

If you could not make the evenings but want to understand more about what we do, please feel free to make an appointment to come in and have a chat, our door is always open.

We start our new 10 day timetable on Monday and I know that our teachers are ready to meet their new classes for the term.

On Wednesday we have our Barrett Shield match against Devon Intermediate. We are hosting and are looking forward to playing some more good rugby. We will let you know what time kick off is so that you can come up and support.

After school Kapahaka is on from 2.15 - 4.15pm for those who are in our rōpu. Kapahaka is now on weekly as they prepare for Tatarakihi at the end of the term.

We are also holding our EPro8 trials on Monday and Tuesday and we wish all teams competing the best of luck.

Have a wonderful rest of your weekend and we will see you all on Monday at 8.45am to kick off another busy week of fun, learning and discovery.

Ngā mihi, Fiona, Nicky and the team :)

Mōrena.

We are still going to Stratford today as the rain looks like it will slow down.

Please make sure if your child is going they have their gear as well as their black KidsCan jacket as they are warm and waterproof.

If the rain does get heavier or doesn’t stop we will just come home earlier so we will keep everyone posted.

Ngā mihi 😊

Today we welcomed eight Year 6 students from Huirangi School to our kura for an afternoon of EPro8 challenges!

There was plenty of excitement from the start, especially when they spotted two of their old classmates who are now at Manukorihi Intermediate.

After a few warm-up challenges (and a 1–1 draw!), the teams were put to the test building a helicopter and rig. It was awesome watching the different ways they tackled the challenge, communicating, problem-solving, sharing ideas and figuring out how to get the best from each other.

Such a cool afternoon of EPro8, teamwork and reconnecting with friends. We loved having you at Manukorihi Intermediate, Huirangi!

A huge ngā mihi to Mrs K who ran this event - we appreciate your passion and enthusiasm in this space and are grateful to you for making this happen 😊
