White Ribbon Riders
East Otago High School was lucky to welcome the White Ribbon Riders today, giving our students the opportunity to hear powerful stories, ask questions and get up close to some impressive motorcycles.
The riders spoke with students about their experiences, sharing personal stories and explaining why they are passionate about the White Ribbon kaupapa. Their message focused on respect, healthy relationships, taking responsibility for our actions and having the courage to speak up when we see behaviour that is not okay.
For many of our students, one of the highlights was getting the chance to sit on the motorcycles and have a closer look at the bikes. The riders were more than happy to talk about their bikes and share their experiences on the road, creating a relaxed and engaging way for students to connect with the visitors.
The visit provided an opportunity for students to see a different side of the people behind the helmets and hear first-hand why they choose to use their time and passion for motorcycling to support an important message.
The White Ribbon Riders travel throughout New Zealand to promote non-violence, respectful relationships and positive messages about what it means to be a good man and a positive member of the community.
A big thank you to the White Ribbon Riders for taking the time to visit East Otago High School, share their stories and spend time with our students. It was a memorable visit and a great opportunity for our students to listen, ask questions and reflect on the importance of respect and looking out for others.
