The Government is currently reviewing how early childhood education is funded in New Zealand. As part of this process, Heretaunga Kindergartens is preparing a submission, and we'd love to hear directly from our whānau.

By completing our short survey, you'll help us advocate for the things that matter most, including high-quality kindergarten education, 100% qualified kaiako, and positive outcomes for tamariki, whānau and our communities.

NZEI Te Riu Roa is inviting parents and whānau to take part in their 2026 Kōriporipo Parent and Whānau Survey.

The survey gathers the experiences and perspectives of families across Aotearoa and helps build a clearer picture of what high-quality early childhood education looks like, the challenges facing the sector, and the changes that would make the biggest difference for tamariki and whānau.

The information collected contributes to a national report that helps inform conversations about the future of early childhood education in New Zealand.

From potting plants to dancing up a storm, Different activities provide a nurturing environment for everyone, where all tamariki can find some passion and interest that helps to benefit them and help to support social competence.

We love our trips to Otaia, our tamariki learning kaitiakitanga through ongoing care for this special space.
This week our tamariki planted 8 trees in our light well which we have grown from seedlings.

Children develop by participating actively in the opportunities that are available to them. Today Candance (Our fantastic student teacher) observed that some childre4n were interested in learning about numbers and play. Hopscotch gives children the chance to learn numbers by moving their body. It also means using a range of strategies and skills to play and learn with others

You’re invited to come celebrate 50 years of Lakeview Kindergarten! Past/present friends, whānau, tamariki and kaiako, are all welcome.

We welcome all whānau and tamariki and work hard to ensure tamariki and families alike develop a real sense of belonging within our kindergarten environment. Tamariki learn through play and are consistently afforded opportunities to follow their interest and to express themselves in a rich and varied curriculum.
