Are you looking for a nurturing, fun and engaging early learning environment for your child?

Launch Active Waipukurau offers five dedicated rooms, supporting tamariki from birth through to school. Each room provides an age-appropriate environment where children can learn, explore and grow at their own pace.

Our Room 5 is designed especially for our oldest tamariki. Through meaningful play, relationships and everyday routines, children are supported to develop confidence, independence, self-regulation and a strong sense of belonging as they approach their next stage.

Our experienced kaiako provide a warm, play-based programme, and our fees include nutritious meals and nappies—making life a little easier for busy whānau.

Spaces are limited, so get in touch to arrange a visit or discuss your childcare needs.

💛 Paint the Town Yellow 💛

It was an absolute privilege to participate in Paint the Town Yellow again - and we are incredibly honoured to have been selected as this year’s Waipukurau winner!

This wonderful campaign supports the Cancer Society Hawke’s Bay and helps ensure that no one faces cancer alone.

A huge thank you to the Cancer Society Hawke's Bay team. We truly appreciate all the hard work you put into raising awareness and funds for such an important cause.

Thank you also to Stella's Cafe for providing the most delicious morning tea! The Launch Active Waipukurau team felt incredibly spoilt.

Our wonderful tamariki have loved being involved, from creating yellow decorations to dressing up and filling Launch with sunshine. 💛🌻

We are so proud to support this meaningful cause alongside our amazing community.

*The power of block play*

Block play supports tamariki to develop problem solving, creativity, spatial awareness and teamwork.

Through working together, sharing ideas and exploring how things fit and balance, children build important foundations for learning.

Such great mahi.

Tamariki explored the flow of water through tipping and pouring, discovering cause and effect while working together.

Through collaboration, turn taking, and problem solving, they strengthened their social and emotional skills and learned alongside one another.

Ka mau te wehi, tamariki mā such wonderful teamwork and learning together!

Our calm, unhurried infant room allows children to explore and experience meaningful moments at their own pace.

These moments support pēpi to slow down, feel secure, and engage with language and images in a gentle, meaningful way. Sitting with a book during quiet time encourages early literacy, connection, and a love of reading from the very beginning.

It is in these peaceful moments that learning feels safe, unhurried, and deeply personal.

In our Room 5 environment, tamariki have been busy experimenting with water flow, problem solving and sensory play in our outdoor space.

By pouring water through the channels, children are developing:
• Cause and effect understanding
• Fine motor skills and hand eye coordination
• Communication and collaboration with peers
• Creativity, curiosity and critical thinking

These hands-on experiences encourage children to investigate, predict and learn through meaningful play while having fun together outdoors.

Play is powerful learning.
