Yesterday’s Colonoscopy Meal Prep.

I have chosen Eggs and chicken, peeled mash spuds as my food choices. You need to have low fibre, no red and brown and purple foods. They give you a list.

I was staying at a friends for a couple of days which was in country, so food choices sometimes can be hard when not in your usual environment.

I am travelling for the colonoscopy. So about to board my flight ✈️

I will arrive and eat some mashed potatoes spud or peeled sweet potato. Maybe some chicken.

I have to stop eating 3pm which I’m not looking forward to! But you’re allowed black tea and coffee or herbal teas. Just check what colour they are.

It will be all over 10am tomorrow! Already dreaming of a pizza 🍕 haha.

COLONOSCOPY PREP: WHAT I’M EATING 👀

Today I’m meal prepping for my colonoscopy, which means temporarily switching to a “low-fibre diet”. Not normally what I promote, but the prep needs to have a low fibre.

I started my morning with hard-boiled eggs and a Mai Chai tea - simple, filling and easy while I’m preparing for the procedure.

And honestly, this is a good reminder that regular health checks matter.

New Zealand has a high rate of bowel cancer, and if you’ve noticed changes in your bowel habits, blood in your stool, unexplained weight loss, or anything that doesn’t feel normal for you, it’s important to get it checked.

I’ll be sharing what I’m eating over the next couple of days as I work through the prep — because sometimes the reality of looking after your health isn’t glamorous… but it’s important. ❤️

Have you had a colonoscopy before?

What I actually ate while travelling today 👇

Travel days don’t always go to plan.

Lunch gets pushed back, you’re between places, and suddenly you’re absolutely starving.

So today I grabbed a couple of Tom & Luke’s Tiramisu Balls and an almond flat white to keep me going until I could have a proper meal.

And honestly… the tiramisu balls were delicious! 😋

I also like having options like this available when I’m travelling because the ingredients are pretty good compared with many of the grab-and-go snacks you’ll find.

This isn’t about finding the “perfect” snack.

It’s about having something with you that helps bridge the gap between meals, keeps you satisfied and stops you from reaching the point where you’ll eat anything in sight.

Because eating well when you’re busy or travelling doesn’t have to mean being perfectly organised.

Sometimes it just means being prepared.

What’s your favourite travel snack? 👇

Your breakfast might be missing something important.

FIBRE.

So many breakfasts are built around one thing: carbohydrates.

Toast. Cereal. Pastries. Even a smoothie can be surprisingly low in fibre and protein.

But I want you to start thinking differently about your first meal of the day.

Ask yourself:

Where’s my PROTEIN?
Where’s my FIBRE?
Where are my healthy FATS?

Because you don’t need a complicated breakfast. You need a balanced one.

Try adding:
🥄 Chia seeds
🌱 Ground flaxseed or LSA
🫐 Berries
🥑 Avocado
🥣 Oats paired with protein

Small additions can make a big difference to how satisfying and nourishing your breakfast is.

And remember — fibre isn’t just about digestion. It’s an important part of supporting your gut health, fullness and blood sugar management.

Start with one change tomorrow.

What are you adding to your breakfast? 👇

Save this post for your next supermarket shop.

FAST FASHION DIDN’T JUST CHANGE WHAT WOMEN WEAR…

IT CHANGED THE WAY WE EAT 😮

Sounds strange, doesn’t it?

But look at the parallel.

Fashion became “faster, cheaper and more convenient”.

Food followed.

We went from cooking and preparing food to a world of “grab-and-go, ready-made and ultra-convenient choices” designed to fit around increasingly busy lives.

And I’m not here to tell women to stop eating convenience food.

Because convenience isn’t going away - and it shouldn’t.

The question is:

Do you know how to choose well when convenience is the option?

Because a busy life doesn’t mean you have to choose between convenience and nourishing your body.

You can make a ready-made meal work harder for you.
You can make better choices at the supermarket.
You can build a balanced meal without cooking everything from scratch.

It’s not about being perfect.
It’s about knowing what to choose.

And that’s what I’m here to teach women.

Part 2 is coming!! where I’ll show you how I do it.

Follow along. 🤍

This!!! Hands down… DELICIOUS. 🤤🌱

We came across this recipe on the “Bold Bean Co.” website and had to try it - and honestly, it did not disappoint!

It’s a perfect reminder that eating well doesn’t have to mean boring or complicated.

✨ Delicious
✨ Packed with fibre
✨ Plant-based protein
✨ Made with real, nourishing ingredients

And women, we need more fibre in our diets! So why not get it from something that tastes this good?

Your food should nourish you “and” bring you pleasure. Because supporting your wellbeing shouldn’t mean sacrificing flavour. ❤️

Save this one and give it a try!

I met a woman in Harrods today and our conversation about food really stayed with me!

She was born in the 60s and grew up in a completely different food culture.

Her parents had grown up during the war. There wasn’t much, food was about getting by - and she told me her grandmother used to give her sugar sandwiches.

Nutrition wasn’t what it is today. We didn’t have the information, the choice or the conversations we have now.

But here’s what really struck me…

She said, “I just don’t know what to eat anymore.”

Because you reach a certain age and suddenly the things that seemed to work before… don’t work in quite the same way.

And I think there are a lot of women stuck right there.

They grew up with one set of beliefs about food, but they’re living in a completely different world.

And now there’s a shift.

You can see it sitting in the lunch spots around London — women choosing protein, salads, veg, whole foods, colourful plates. There’s a growing awareness that what we eat matters.

We can’t change what we inherited.

But we can change what we do with it.

Getting older doesn’t mean giving up on your body. It means learning what your body needs now.

And maybe the biggest shift isn’t just what we’re eating…

It’s finally questioning what we were taught.

What are business women actually eating for lunch in London? 👀

I headed into the business district, starting with insurance and finance, and chatted to women in line for coffee about their go-to lunch.

Farmer J came up a lot - Gail’s for fresh sandwiches, loads of salad bowls and plenty of choice. So many places to pick from angry all range in price.

I chose Eat ACTIV: warm chicken, roast potatoes and a green salad. It was good, but I preferred the salads at Farmer J and HQ Soho.

It’s interesting seeing how women are balancing “convenience + fresh, whole foods” when they’re busy at work.

So… what’s your go-to work lunch? 🥗

So… WHAT ARE WOMEN EATING IN LONDON? 🇬🇧

I’ve been asking women around London what they’re actually eating - and there’s a clear shift happening.

From women in their 20s through to 30s and beyond, I kept hearing the same thing:

“I’m trying to eat more whole foods.”

And when you walk around places like Soho, you can actually see it.

Green bowls.
Salad bars.
Fresh vegetables.
Eggs.
Protein.
Whole-food lunches.

You’ve got places like “H.G. Walter, Soho Farmers’ Market, Pret and all the independent salad and sandwich spots” making it incredibly easy to grab something that feels fresh and nourishing.

And I think there’s another part of the story we don’t always talk about:

Access.

London has an enormous amount of food choice. And for many women working here, particularly those earning more than they might have previously, buying a £10–£15 lunch built around fresh ingredients is actually an option.

So I started wondering…

Is this what the modern woman is moving towards?

Not another diet.

Not cutting everything out.

Not eating perfectly.

But simply “more whole foods, more protein, more fiber, more colour and better options that fit into a busy day.

Because convenience doesn’t have to mean fast food.

Convenience can be a green bowl, a salad, eggs, a protein-rich sandwich or a supermarket meal you can actually feel good about.

And honestly?

That might be one of the biggest shifts I’m seeing in women’s food culture in London.

So… what are women eating in London?

I’m here to find out. follow for more!
