Using the wonderful flax that grows around our beautiful country, we weave beautiful creations in awesome bright vibrate colours, such as red, black, greens and yellows. Wellesley College, Wellington Nz loved our flowers so much, we were asked to make a display for a very important dinner 😁 so we got to work and we handed the school our beautiful creation.
I was lucky enough to attend this amazing night and was able to see that our beautiful flowers were such a hit, that I was asked if they could be auctioned off 😮
So proud when they were brought for $350, that was to be put toward the Wellesley's Scholarship Campaign, Promising Futures for Boys, thank you Mother Nature, once again you rock👏👏💖💖

Lately we have noticed the amazing work of Wellesley College, Wellington Nz, Eastbourne, who have been trying their hardest to involve more Te Reo and Maori Culture into their schooling environment, 👏👏we wanted to show them our support and pride in their move into this very important area by donating some beautiful Flax Woven Flower displays made up in their school colours to display and welcome future students and parents to their wonderful school😉

Well Oh My Goodness, its been awhile, I Am Back, 😎fully recovered from the nasty Carpal Tunnel and man have I missed WEAVING,💖 to feel the beautiful harakeke in my hands again and to be able to create again, finally feeling like myself 🤗 After not been able to weave for all this time I now have learnt to fully appreciate my gift and to make the most of it while I can because you never know when something you love doing can be taken away, I hope all you lovely peeps out in our weaving world are doing awesome, happy positive spring season thoughts go out to you all. 🤩

Thank goodness the weather is clearing, am keen to harvest some harakeke after this afternoon touch games, now that we are back at NZique, Petone, we are weaving, weaving, weaving to keep our beautiful booth fully stocked, great way to spend the weekends :)

Weaving, weaving, weaving, flowers, gift boxes, Kete, so many beautiful things to make with the wonderful flax, getting the fingers & hands moving, tucking & working :) its time to build up stock again, its time for Forever Flax to return to the awesome shop NZique in Petone. :D
With the Christmas season nearly upon us, we will be back selling our beautiful products @ NZique, Petone @ the beginning of November, come in to the shop to have a look at our beautiful natural or coloured woven work or have a look around @ all the other beautiful handcrafted art that fills the shop :D

Selena and I were lucky enough to be asked again to hold not one but two flax weaving classes for the Hutt Kindergarten Association development classes for their kindy teachers earlier this month, we were to teach 20 teachers in each class to make a Waikawa which is a basket used to store veges or large objects in a max of 2 hours each class. We had an awesome time meeting all the lovely eager teachers turned students who all tried their hardest, stayed positive & ended up walking away with a beautiful Waikawa each, was funny because we ended up with a lot more people in the second class as they were keen to have what the first class had made, all up we ended up teaching around 50 people, which was a huge challenge that Selena & I both fully enjoyed, thank you once again Hutt kindy Association for the awesome opportunity and the wonderful experience hope all your teachers had as much fun as us, till next time Cheers Kristal Warbrick & Selena Shaw

Cant wait for the rain to stop & for the sun to start shining brightly again, really would like to gather some flax to start our wedding order, am super excited about starting after our meeting with the bride to be, this year is already turning out premo regardless of the rain ;)
