Living it up in Manila

Riki Ruru tried the famous Spirals Buffet at Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila. He was very keen to try everything at the dessert station 🧁🍦

Riki Ruku had a meeting with his friends, Bonbon Rabbit and Tulip Pig.
Riki and his friends are currently staying with the Navarro family here in Manila. 🦉🦉🦉

Butterly garden inside the airport 🫶
Since Riki had to wait 8 more hours to board the connecting flight to Manila, he decided to explore Changi Airport in Singapore.

Here Riki discovers a beautiful butterfly garden inside the airport terminal. What a treat! Riki and Reena get to learn about butterflies, their behaviour and lifecycle.

Riki Ruru’s off to his new adventure! He’s on his way to Manila, the capital city of the Philippines.
It’s another long flight from Christchurch, transiting to Singapore before touching down at his final destination.

Good thing he has a travel buddy - Bonbon Rabbit to keep him company 🦉🐰

Riki is rather confused. He left London at 4pm Thursday for a 12 hour flight to Los Angeles and arrived there 7pm Thursday. Then he left Los Angeles at 9pm Thursday for a 12 hour flight to Auckland and arrived 6am SATURDAY! Can any of the bright sparks in Room 1 tell him how that happened?

Just like that, it's the end of our trip, and Riki and Mrs Fish are busy getting their things packed to get to the airport. We hope to be back in Waimate sometime Saturday afternoon/evening.

Riki knows that Waimate has been an important place in New Zealand for growing and supplying strawberries. He's even heard that in December there is usually a Strawberry Fare in Waimate. Today he found out that Hedge End, where he has been staying at Mr and Mrs Smith's house, has been an important grower and supplier of strawberries in England for more than 100 years. Today Mrs Fish and Riki were out walking and found this fabulous carved pole (reminded us of your pou at White Horse) and the road sign as you enter the start of the village.
