What a fantastic day it has been at the Science Roadshow. Thanks to Te Mata school for hosting and our Whānau for supporting on the day… we have a few scientists in the making for sure.

Just a reminder that this Friday 21st August is a Teacher only day. Our Kaiako are participating in math Professional Development to ensure what we teach matches the achievement outcomes within the new curriculum. Enjoy a long weekend.

The Hawkes Bay is simply amazing. It’s full of learning opportunities and people doing great things for the environment.

First we explored the rocky shore at Ahuriri where we found a multitude of marine creatures and plants, then we went to the aquarium to extend our knowledge on Kororā / Little Blue penguins, and we finished off with a visit to the beautiful Kororā Sanctuary and the Napier port. We even saw a female sitting 2 eggs. How lucky are we!

Rocky Shore trip:
Don’t forget that we need to leave Kure at 8:30am tomorrow morning. Please pack a jacket and warm clothing… and shoes that may get wet at the beach.

As part of our Government’s nationwide Solar in Schools programme, Waimārama Schools has been selected to receive rooftop
Being one of 500 selected schools nationwide will help us to cut power bills, boost resilience, reduce emissions, and bring renewable energy learning into our classrooms.

On average, this will be around $8,000 a year saved for each of the 500 schools, which they can reinvest into their school.

We are super excited to be part of this initiative.
