📣 LEARNING ASSISTANT/TEACHER AIDE - Waikino School

Application closing date - Tues 21st July 2026

We're looking for a warm, enthusiastic Learning Assistant to join our New Entrant class, supporting a small group of amazing tamariki.

This role is all about connection - building relationships with our youngest learners, getting stuck in alongside them in the classroom and out in our beautiful environment and not being afraid of a bit of mud!

🌿 What you need to know:
• Approximately 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday
• Fixed-term position for Term 3 with potential for extension into Term 4 (tagged to student funding)
• Immediate start

🌿 What we're looking for:
• Someone who genuinely loves working with young children
• A willingness to be part of a small, close-knit school community
• A love of the outdoors and hands-on learning - mud pies very much encouraged
• Experience is great but not essential - we'll wrap plenty of support around the right person

If this sounds like you, or someone you know, please get in touch. Applications close Tuesday 21st July 2026! 🌿

WAIKINO SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY IS HAPPENING TOMORROW (Wed 13th May)

We welcome friends and whanau to come and cheer the kids on as they run their event, however, for safety reasons, we request that you please DO NOT PARK in the school carpark OR on any of the streets which form part of our running route (Poland Rd/Abbot St/Princes St loop as shown on map).

Waikino Hall has plenty of carparking and it's just a brief walk up the hill to school. Alternatively, you may be able to find a suitable place to park on other streets in Waikino, thats a bit closer, but not on our route.

If you have family members who are unable to walk that distance, feel free to drop them at school before you go and park.

We realise this may a bit inconvenient, but safety of our students is our highest priority, and parked vehicles restrict view. Your understanding is appreciated.

THE FIRST RACE WILL START AT 9.20am.
