Fiona Wilson has been singing and dancing since forever. Studying at NASDA (National Academy of Singing and Dramatic Art) her training includes classical, opera, folk, musical theatre, and then on to Tapestry Music to study contemporary vocals with one of NZ's top contemporary vocalists David Feehan. She found her passion in Soul and Blues and has been teaching uniquely contemporary techniques for

over 15 years. What are contemporary vocals? Jazz, blues, rock, pop, soul, metal, you name it we've done it. Yes there are many similarities with classical technique - but there are also many areas a more traditional style does not cover. Metal screaming for example?! Fiona's focus is first and foremost on vocal safety. Her honesty and integrity have won her many loyal clients over the years. And if you think you can't sing - then nobody has ever taught you how!

Do you have a child interested in singing but maybe scared of singing solo? Or perhaps one-on-one lessons aren’t in your budget?

Come and join us at Kapiti Kidz Vocals! This is the only kids choir in Kapiti where the songs are funky, fun & modern AND we will teach vocal technique and theory as we learn.

Ages 8-12 - Mondays 5-6pm $12 per session.

TERM ONE 2026 UPDATE - STUDIO OPENING FEB 23rd 2026

We have started the completion of our renovations which is very exciting! The installation of our flooring will not be completed however until later in February so the studio will open for the year the week beginning February 23rd, 2026. This still gives us 6 weeks out of the 10 week term.

This was not what we had planned but is out of our control unfortunately.

I understand this is not ideal - and as such if anyone has auditions/assessments etc they need to prepare for I am very happy to either come to you if you have a suitable space at your home, or do a virtual lesson via google meet or zoom for you.

I am really looking forward to welcoming you all into our new space and appreciate your patience as we get things finished off.

Band meet and greet this week at Kapiti's only music store Kapiti Music!

After the meet ups we will get people’s contacts to organise into duo’s/trio or bands of similar interests/ages and levels.

For Primary School Age (8-12):
Thursday the 6th of March from 6.30pm-7.30pm

For College Age (13-18):
Wednesday the 5th of March from 6.30pm-7.15pm

For Adults:
Wednesday the 5th of March from 7.15pm-8pm
