🔨🧱 Welcome to our Construction Cave! 🧱🔨

Here at Waimata, we have what we call our ‘Construction Cave’ — a special space created by our wonderful Whaea Ceara, where our tamariki can build, experiment, and bring their ideas to life! 🔨🧱✨

Alongside their construction part, lately our tamariki have been learning about physics in the classroom, and we’ve loved seeing that learning extend into the Construction Cave.

There is so much learning happening through getting your hands dirty — testing ideas, problem-solving, discovering how things work and learning through trial and error. Our tamariki are showing such wonderful curiosity and enthusiasm as they investigate the world around them.

Kirsty has whipped up some delicious nachos for our tamariki’s lunch today — and by gosh, they were yum! 😍🌮

We always serve fresh, cut-up fruit alongside every lunch too, because we believe in keeping those little tummies happy and full of good, nutritious kai. 🍎🍌

How lucky are our kids to enjoy a home-cooked meal for lunch every day here at Waimata! Good food, happy tummies and ready-to-learn minds — that’s what we’re all about!

Our amazing cook, Kirsty, puts so much love and care into preparing wholesome, home-cooked meals for our tamariki each day!

The delicious smells drifting through the school are always a reminder of the special care that goes into making our tamariki feel happy, nourished and cared for. ❤️

This week, Frankie & Dom were caught being good! 👏💛 They got to choose a book of their choice — what a cool reward for making awesome choices and showing our kura values! ✨

Makenzie is off to the next Principal’s Lunch! 🍽️ I’m sure she’ll enjoy some yummy kai and a well-deserved treat for her amazing mahi.
