ITM MUSIC FESTIVAL

What an awesome day for our students who headed along to the ITM Music Festival today, held at the Gallagher Academy of Performing Arts Centre on the University of Waikato campus in Hamilton.

It was a fantastic event, with heaps of students coming together to share their love of music, perform, learn and soak up the atmosphere.
Ka rawe to all our students who took part and represented Waihī College so well. We hope you came home feeling inspired after such a great day of music!

Well done to everyone involved and a speciL thanks to Mr Randell and Sacha Urlich for getting them there.

Our Waihi College A Netball Team are prepped and ready to take on the Upper North Island Secondary Schools Netball Championships (UNISS)

It’s been an incredible season of growth, development and resilience for this team. With plenty of adjustments, injuries and players stepping up when needed, the girls have continued to work hard and support one another every step of the way.

What an awesome goal, Jaylah.

💬 Rylee says: “I’m excited to play at UNISS with my mates. It’s my last UNISS, so I want to make it a good one!”

Our end-of-year prizegivings are always an exciting time at Waihī College!

With our students shining in so many different ways, we hold a number of prizegivings to make sure their achievements, talents, service and hard work are recognised and celebrated.

AIMS Games 2026

The countdown is officially on! Just over a week to go until our Waihi College athletes take on AIMS Games 2026, running from Sunday 6 September – Friday 11 September.

AIMS Games is the pinnacle event for athletes in this age group, bringing together more than 463 schools Nationally and Internationally. Our teams and individual athletes have been working incredibly hard and have enjoyed some fantastic campaigns and competitions in the lead-up.

A huge congratulations to all of our students selected to represent Waihi College for 2026 you have earned your place and we are incredibly proud of you!

2026 sees us have students representing Waihi College in the following Sports Codes:

Rugby 7s
Tennis
Gymnastics
Cross Country
BMX
Mountain Biking - Enduro

Our Rugby Sevens and Netball teams will have one final hit-out at the Papamoa Pre-AIMS Tournament tomorrow at Blake Park. Good luck to our teams as they prepare for the big one!

Kia ora parents and whānau,

The Weet-bix Kids Triathlon is coming to Mount Maunganui on Sunday, 29 November 2026, at Arataki Park. This event is open to students 15 years of age and under, and entries are now open. We have a school group link available, allowing parents to register their child through our school group.

Early bird entries are also available, but places are filling fast! If your child is keen to take part, we encourage you to get their entry in soon.

Please note: Parents/whānau are required to take their child to and from this event.
